Conquest would be his only other likely choice which would mean he has warfare which would mean we aren't likely going to be getting FotT... He must still be running aristocracy to have a GNP of 165 and so -1 food and no agrarianism bonus is going to hurt, even with sanitation - although completely doable on this map.

He may just have pulled off a load of farms and be working mines/lumbermills in a few cities. I didn't check the graphs but he may be the one with 94 mfg this turn. We should be able to tell by looking at Serdoa's mfg graph if we really want to know. Do we?

So, as I illuded to before, I made a cock up in reading the demographics and thought that Serdoa had researched warfare last turn. He actually did not get warfare and I then took a rish thinking we would be in a race....

So, seeing as xp was going to be the hurdle in getting FotT I decided to do this:

I reasoned that we still had Ilios and now Zakalwe with high xp and so if he lost, it wouldn't have been too much of a set back. That, and I really thought we were in a race.

The result:

Mardoc is now at 20xp and 3.2 health with a promo heal. There are 2 warriors to attack in Ultigar and maybe a 3rd will spawn in a turn or 2 to get him to 26xp!!!!

How about we promote Mardoc with March? He'd be able to reach 6lvl (and capture Ultigar) a couple of turns earlier. Later in the game he could get Flanking and upgarde to HA to become a standalone harassment unit.

Serdoa has got Elementalism already so he's right when he says that no Air from us would cost him only a few turns needed to get his own node. Let's make the trade, but in exchange for what? Offering a non-compete on FotT is risky at this point - he can grab it faster if he wants to. We've got enough happy for now. What else could we ask for?

Why would Serdoa want the ToE anyway? Ice Elementals even with Strong are still silly compared to Spectres.
