Swamplings wesnoth SG 3

This time we will demand control of the swamps.

We are playing the campaign Swamplings.

This campaign is an add-on which you can get via the add-on button in your Wesnoth.

We are goblins and we just want to live in our swamps.

Smelly humans, orcs, and scally lizards leave and we will let you live.

What version of wesnoth are you all using? If it's the same i'll join in as well. Just have to update Swamplings to it's latest version ( i never finished it, so i won't know what's going to happen!)

in as well ... played through the first couple of scenarios myself so i believe i have a reasonably good idea about how to handle it

I will be unavailable for a week or so later this month due to traveling away from my gaming machine for Christmas with family. Otherwise I should be able to handle my part of the rotation.

Just tried the first scenario...meh. frown Lots and lots of ultra-wimpy meat shields. Except that we don't actually have much worth shielding. Reminds me a lot of the start of Northern Rebirth with all the peasantry going out to be slaughtered.

Not sure how best to play this one. huh

We have our rouser with leadership, able to boost our meat shield level 0 guys. But the level 0 guys are slow and do not exert ZOC, so trying to use our leader is very likely to get him killed for an instant loss. frown

Our meat shields get terrible defense pretty much everywhere, and are so weak that the enemy will one-shot them most of the time anyway. They are also so slow and the enemy horsemen so fast that our meat shields will mostly die without ever getting a chance to even strike a blow. frown

The enemy has more gold, quickly gets more villages for more income, and has all-around superior units. frown So a mass rush isn't going to do the job. And unlike Northern Rebirth's peasant start, there are not two enemies to fight one another and weaken them for our attack. Our only units which are semi-useful are also required to survive, meaning we can't really use them as the enemy can insta-kill them with a single attack. frown

Any suggestions? Anyone want to go first? lol
