Btw great plan.

Well Pindicator and I currently have an alliance. Sian is on the way out, and Yuri is about to get hammered by Pindicator.

So.... let's see.... who's left lol

Maybe I'll take a shot at the guy who waged a successful war but has a lot of outdated troops, has about half my food / prod / GNP, and is also trying to strongarm me out of ex-Sian cities that are right next to my mainland but halfway around the world from him.

Whoever that is lol

Though actually I'd be fine with just going peacefully, at least for a little while longer.

Aye, a Communism grab would be amazing.

PBEM17 is never far from my mind. I do think I'm in a better position here, mostly due to my alliance with Pindicator. Also the players in this game, no disrespect intended, are not as good as the all-star cast of '17.

Still, that's good advice, and we'll see how where we're at in a few turns.

regoarrarr Wrote:So Skinny is my Moai city and so might be an option. I don't really want to pull any citizens off 2/2/3 Moai / Golden age tiles, but if I pulled workers off the grass hill and stone quarry, that would feed 3 specs, plus Moai and Paya, making 45 GPP/t. It's my city that has currently at 87/201, 2nd most GPP accumulated. If it came before So Dumb in the turn order, I think I could get the 268 GP out of here in 3t before So Dumb produced one, but as it stands, I think I can only get one out of So Poor OR So Skinny.

So that's 3 GPs, and I think my only chance for a 4th one would be to let So Dumb try to get another one. If So Dumb gets the 268 GP in 3t, and does 72 GPP/t for 6 turns, that would make it 36 + (72 * 6) - 268 at the end of 6t. That's only 200 GP, and it needs 402.

Don't understand how you calculated So Skinny. It needs 268 GPP. With 87 currently and 3 turns of 45 you are at 222, even with 4 turns you are short one GPP (though I guess you can get that one easily)

Anyway, for 4 GPs:

T104: 1 GP - So Fat (201)
T106: 2 GP - So Skinny (268)
T108: 3 GP - So Dumb (335 -> slow it down T105 to T106 or it will overtake So Skinny and depending on turn order of your cities will screw you)
T110: 4 GP - So Poor (402 -> running 6 specs till T108; counter at 303 GPP - 2 turns of 54 deficit running will make it 411)

Okay, this turn took awhile to play. First I wanted to make sure to whip anything that needed (and could be) whipped

Most importantly, we have 3 courthouses (yellow) completing. Those cities have 10.95, 14.75 and 15.09 in maintenance, so that should save ~20 gpt next turn.

Then we have 5 theaters (red) completing. That, along with the 2 theaters already built, will allow So Dumb to overflow into the Globe Theater next turn. It will also get the National Epic, since it has fish, clam, wheat, and a few grass that can be farmed.

Speaking of the National Epic, So Skinny has too much overflow to build just about anything, so I put its hammers onto the (marble boosted) National Epic, for 110g (err actually 155g after GA) in 10-20t when I finish it in So Dumb.

Thanks. I'm not sure that works though. I've fired the GA, and revolted to Caste and Pacifism, and am trying to run through it. The other thing is maybe I don't even need a 4th GP right now.

So nothing but So Fat can get a GP by T105, and even if it's a tiebreaker, So Fat is the capital, so I'll just let him run on wonders and GLib specs, which will generate a GP at EOT105. So I think I'm set there.

I think I need to not run GPs at So Skinny because it has like 40 prophet points (+9/t from boosted Paya and Moai). A prophet would be awful, because a) it can't bulb anything good and b) I already have a prophet to be half of my next golden age.

So it then seems fairly trivial to get a GP each out of So Dumb and So Poor. So Poor first at 33 + 5 * 54 is 303, which would be the 268 GP.

So Dumb at 36 + 6 * 45 would be 306, or 29 short, so I'd need to run a few turns of 6 specs (rather than working the 1/4/0 hill towards the Globe)

That lets me save more of the "cheaper" GPs for Phase II.

Best odds are 2 scientists and an engineer, with decent odds for 3 scientists. So what's the plan.

From upthread, with selected beaker values included.

Quote:Scientist: Sci Meth (2476), Education (1857), Printing Press (1650), Alphabet (309), Philosophy (825), Optics (619), Paper (619), Astronomy (2063)
Engineer: Machinery (722), Engineering, Construction
Merchant: Alphabet, Paper, Guilds (1031), Printing Press

I'm currently working on Paper, and ideally I could finagle it to get finished this turn, so So Skinny can move right on to the University of Sankore, though I don't think that can happen.

Scientist will bulb 1000 + 3 * pop on Quick. I have about 140 pop, so let's say 1420 beakers, and an engineer (or merchant) will do about 946 beakers. There are a few Great Spy points in So Dumb and So Skinny, and apparently GSpies do not bulb, so if I get that, then I'll have to save him for the next golden age (which I may even kick off immediately if I get a Spy).

So I'm definitely going to research Paper. To get maximum beaker value, I plan to avoid bulbing anything like Alphabet, Optics or even Philosophy (I have double pre-reqs).

So 3 scientists I'll use on Education (research the rest), Printing Press (after teching Alpha and Machinery), and then probably save for Astronomy (after teching Philo and Optics).

2 scientists and an engineer I'll have to decide if I want to use the engineer on Machinery or save him for the golden age (or possibly rush a wonder, but I don't know what I'd rush)

So T102 I worked max tax on Paper, still netting 140 out of 619b (due to all those hired Scientists)
T103: I will turn on science, putting about 750 adjusted beakers into Paper, completing it and about 300b of overflow.
T104: Probably max tax on Alphabet, still completing it at EOT due to overflow

Hmm, I know I said earlier that it woudl be okay to get the great person out of So Fat on EOT105 but it would be very useful to have it at EOT104 both so I know if it's going to be an engineer, and so I can appropriately put my overflow into the "right" tech.

It's at 147/201 right now (EOT102), and currently making 30GPP/t, but I could hire 3 scientists to get it to 57 GPP next turn and get the GP at the end of T103. Yeah I'll probably do that.

So if that GP is a scientist, then I'll use him on Education and probably finish it from max science at EOT105.
T106: Machinery, likely scientist born at EOT
T107: Use scientist to bulb most of Printing Press, finish it off.

If the first GP is an engineer, then I'll (probably) use him to bulb Machinery, then spend research on Philosophy and/or Optics, so as to not waste Education bulb beakers. When the 1st sci is born, I will use him to knock out Education and then the 2nd one on part of Printing Press.

T108: Golden age ends, then I need to research Philosophy and Optics, which will let the next scientists bulb Astronomy and Scientific Method.

Just remembered something else. Well, 2 something elses

1) Another thing that Education unlocks is... Gunpowder! And I just so happen to have a UU that appears at Gunpowder.

2) If only there was a way that you could get a golden age that didn't require any Great People.... and ideally it would be unlocked at a tech that is a) only 1 tech away from something I have to research anyways and b) unlocks a civic that would be useful to spend 5t at a time in.... devil

So yeah, that could be a better use of the engineer should it pop
