Ok, I'll stop feeding the trolls.

I don't think replaying the turn is an option simply because I didn't document the order of attacks well enough to ensure I'd even get the same result (full confession: the details I provided lurkers in my report were stitched together from memory and plausibility).

OK, so what would you have done if the bug weren't there? Would you have accepted the peace for gold deal? If so that is by far the easiest solution.
I'd need to discuss this with my teammate, but if mackoti hadn't given us a peace offer and instead just continued his attack I would have just given you the city.
Can we stop calling it a bug? I think that's highly debatable, and every time you use that phrase it makes me think you're trying to say you're being cheated.

NO, the easiest solution by far is for you guys to play your turn and get over it, since 143 gold will have absolutely no effect on this game.

SevenSpirits Wrote:You noticed! I don't know what to say if you truly feel cheated. Mackoti has obviously done all the leg work, he came at us with a very respectable military stack. Meanwhile you guys see the war, know you have 10 turns of enforced peace, and decide to be opportunists and raze an undefended city with a single war chariot. And you're upset that mackoti gets the spoils? Help me understand this better, because right now it doesn't seem like we owe you anything.

You keep talking about the game situation! Cheating has nothing to do with the game situation! I thought you'd realized this. SevenSpirits Wrote:You keep talking about the game situation! Edit: You ever just have a cascade of uncoordinated events go wrong for you? Need to play more Mario Kart Wii, that's a great game for learning to deal with this kind of thing. You laugh and move on.

That is actually my favorite genre of board game, the "you get screwed" genre. Most notably Space Alert is a brilliant cooperative game where things regularly go catastrophically wrong. It's not really important to me whether you feel things have gone really badly for you this turn. I mean I sympathize, but I don't consider that a justification for suspending the philosophy of playing in good faith. |
