I'm definitely up for lurking. The CTON aspect puts me off a bit, though. Makes it even harder to be relevant when you're behind if you can't pull a proper catpile on someone lol

Umm. Are you still having fun playing this game? I don't mean to run you off, but if playing this is a chore for you it's not that big a deal to move units for two civs rather than one.

If you are having fun (or see the prospect of having fun) playing turns and planning strategy/tactics then you're more than welcome to stay with us.

But if you're just playing the turns out of a sense of duty and aren't enjoying yourself, then it's ok if you want to bow out of the game.
