We got a save and I forgot about a family get-together in Salem, so I have to get moving. Shoot did ask us for 100g, which would prevent us from researching Guilds this turn. But seeing how you want to upgrade HAs, maybe we don't want to finish Guilds straight away? They also separately asked for our map.
I've thought of a couple responses to shoot:
1) give him the gold. I think this lessens the chance they attack us but maybe doesn't eliminate it entirely. Things have calmed down
2) after we whip we see how low we can turn the slider to still get guilds at the end of the turn, and then counter-offer the rest of our gold
3) give him nothing.
4) antagonize them by offering 1g and a fish.
In all cases I would prefer not giving them our map. Keep as much mystery as possible, especially if there's a good chance they are attacking in 9 turns.
Since things have cooled down, I think there's a less likely chance they attack, but that it is still very possible. So our build-up and troop deployment has to be flexible. We need to be able to respond to shoot if he does attack, or to go after mackoti if he doesn't. Actually, is going after our lost cities still on the table? Or do we just want to do one final ride after the big dogs?
I'm still not sure, but whatever you want to go with I'll be happy to join in on. But I gotta run.
