This tendency to make a mountain range out of what shouldn't even be a molehill (and argue them incessantly), combined with the complete and utter refusal to surrender any ground, is doing a lot more damage than accusations of mod abuse or personal snipes are. So, to summarize: Imo Sullla may have been better off asking T-hawk to close the thread, but the mod-action in itself is imo warranted for, so I don't see a reason why he couldn't do it by himself. The namecalling though is certainly not warranted for and quite honestly I think Thoth should apologizes for being so much out of line with it.

Links to pages are pretty useless since people can have different posts-per-page settings. That thread you linked only has 5 pages for me, not 18.

I don't think it matters. Dave would have been able to say the same thing in the tech thread and no-one would have batted an eye. It would be less direct but it would have the same effect. Thoth tells dave what is already known -- Sullla said that team 4 was in very bad shape during his recuting push.

Team Spullarise Libbed Nationalism, meaning they're now up 8,500 beakers on us. My hunch is that they go military tradition + gunpowder next so Speaker can start churning out triple-promoted cuirassiers.

Well it looks like team 3 is not good enough. If you check out their thread they are number 2 in beaker count and that should not be possible with that many cities. They got screwed over on the tech deflation issue but it would have not made a difference in the long run.

Well, it seems my New Year's resolution couldn't hold for even two weeks. Sigh. Since it seems like my presence here is too controversial right now, I'm going to recuse myself from Realms Beyond for a while. I'm not fully sure why so much hostility has sprung up around this game, but I think the best way to calm things down is to disappear for the immediate future. Signing onto these forums to read new posts has gone from being one of the high points of my day to one of the low points of the day, and there's no reason to subject myself (or others) to that. Realms Beyond is just going to have to sort itself out without me for a while.

It's really a shame, because I had a lot interesting stuff to say about this game. Ah well, such is life.

Sullla goes emo. I suggest t-hawk comes in and explains that the lurker thread is 90% spam, so don't sullla drop out because of it, and the game can not last without a mod and request powers. I wonder what his new year resolution was? Not get flamed? You are brave sullla taking a resolution that can fail and it is not your fault... I don't think dropping is justfied if you are attacked by ONE person (there where others but the attacks where weak). So I am guessing he is dropping beacuse of lurker thread spam.

Edit: Post 372 is a very plasible reason why sullla dropped. He can not say what happened because PM/e-mails are suppossed to be private.
