Who needs wanes when you can capture cities with decent pop? Plus that gives him a core to build up at so that he doesn't have to entrust his entire game to a small band of five or six units.
After Mist, he has a couple really good targets- Obviously Ravus for reasons already stated, but also Mack, whose vamps all provide Manes (and whose spectres are useless vs. Demons). Curiously enough, Amelia's otherwise poor decision to use Hosts instead of Pit Beasts means that his mages aren't Manes fodder.
But I doubt this game will last that long. Sareln can't commit to the game but can't get a sub, and until Mist dies this game is over the recommended PBEM player limit. And I'm not sure that anyone but Ravus is really enjoying it.
Also, as interesting a plan as it was, I still don't see how the Ravus "raise the AC ASAP" strategy does anything to bring him closer to victory. As I think I stated months ago, entrusting the fate of your game to barbarian AI units (and now a skilled human player who is in no way allied with you) isn't a great strategy compared to just skipping all the silly diplo and evil prophecy stuff and just killing people with warrens spam.
