I am new to the RB civ epics....my screenname on civ4 warlords is italiano....so far i know only 2 ppl that are involved here....atlas and....speaker -_-........any1 care to introduce me to how things work around here>

I would be happy to give you the quick run down. So basically we are a community (not a clan), that does not try to just win, but to get the most out of games by being creative in how we play them. I know you are civ oriented so I will give you the RB-Civ tour. We will have tournaments (Epics and Adventures), however the name tournament is a bit misleading as we don't really compete (and you don't win anything). To learn more about the tournaments check out this page http://www.realmsbeyond.net/civ/civ4-tournament.html Realms Beyond is also pretty active over at CivFanatics in both the strategy and succession game forums. I am currently in 2 succession games for instance- here is a list of all but the most recent succession games http://www.realmsbeyond.net/civ/civ4-succession.html So I see you have found the forums . The Civ forum also has a sub-forum called "Tournament Reports and Discussion" -when tournament games finish you will post your game report in that forum. The key to tournaments is not to discuss anything that happened in your game and not discuss strategy for the game until it closes, oh and have fun too  . As for the forums I think you will find that everyone here goes out of their way to be courteous, helpful, and friendly. I would recommend you take a look at the tournament game page (here- http://www.realmsbeyond.net/civ/civ4-tou...elist.html ) and sort of find out what we mean by "variants," then find a variant you think is interesting/wacky or whatever, then go to the tournament reports sub-forum and read some reports on how some RB members played that game. Some of my favorites were Epic 1,5,6 and 8 & Adventures 4,7,9, and 11.

thanks atlas...and mucco for the introducton....I play alot of ladder games, have been experimenting with map making. I would like to compete in epics with fellow civers who share my interest. I look forward to playing more games with you, Atlas...and maybe you should join the ladder, mucco. This group of epic players seem like a great bunch of guys
Welcome! I hope that you enjoy your stay here. Atlas' introduction to Civ-gaming ala Realms Beyond is pretty much appropriate for any of the games that we play here, although CIV and Guild Wars are the most popular at the moment. With any luck, you'll find a happy home here for a number of future games as well.
