Indeed I played it this morning, and later did a little bit of sandboxing to get a feel for it. I feel like we'll want Hunting after Sailing and before Masonry. That extra happy cap is very important with the granaries we are throwing up. I definitely want to settle the ivory or fur next. Probably the ivory works out better with our workers how they are.
I had one other idea from sandboxing: that maybe we should settle Dominate It in place, instead of 1N at the sign.
Pros:
1) Being only 1 vertical tile away from the capital it is 1 distance closer for maintenance purposes.
2) Due to point 1), we save 1g on t42 and can therefore still run 100% science (-10gpt) and finish sailing in 2t. Note: the sandbox is one beaker behind the real game, so in the sandbox I got 1b short of sailing, then edited it in. Finishing sailing lets us not hurry to road to Dominate It.
3) This location will allow Dominate It to grow two riverside grass cottages for Attach Mimes!
Cons:
1) There are two adjacent coasts instead of one so it's less sheltered. However this is not a big deal since I don't expect to build any wonders here anyway, nor is it a particularly amazing settlement in the first place.
2) It loses a FP. One possible dotmap of the region to the northeast is to place a single city in the middle of all those FP, on the forested plains hill. This location specifically misses that one FP which the northern DI location claims! (And there would be no other way to claim that FP.) Therefore settling DI in place prevents us from settling that particular spot which we might otherwise wish to.
