The Orc Clan: Following the Princess Rule

Here it is. The big one. The Shake down. The... you know what this is. It's one of the points this game has been building to for half a year. The Infamous Krill entering as the Demons. He doesn't have AS strong a start as I hoped. So threat potential isn't off the scales. But still, it's krill! (see, Orcs can rhyme!)

I'm going over these two posts. One for Mr Yellow, one for the tech thread. I should include the information needed to bring Krill in. I'll post a message to T-Hawk and Krill. A shame they don't have more warning but with the stall we had I had no way to know when/or if the game would start moving again.

Message to Brave Sir Yellow

Quote:To Mister Yellow,

It is unfortunate that you feel like you have to pull out of our alliance, but understandable.

Fortunately however the alliance might still have a chance. With your departure I'm no longer bound to our agreement to try to keep down the AC while we attack Mackoti. I can now freely get the Infernal Pact technology to switch to a Sacrifice the Weak + Conquest economy and pump out units.

Unfortunately for yourself I anticipate this changeover will summon two more horsemen and Krill as Hyborem even before you make it home to Hippus Lands.

Good Luck in your endeavours now that you have left the Alliance.

Ravus Sol - The Red Wizard
PS - please check the FFH PBEM VII Tech thread for information on what to do with your save. As you are the last player T-Hawk will need your save to allow Krill to play. Here is a quick quote;

T-hawk Wrote:Ok, let me know when things are ready. I need:

- admin password if any
- civ password for the following player:
- save right before Hyborem would take their first turn. Whoever plays before Hyborem, make your moves and save but don't end turn. Send that save to me. I'll run it through my patched DLL and return it to that player.

There is no admin password, so just your save (before ending) and password to T-hawk should bring Krill in.

Good Luck and have fun!

Here is my last posted idea for the Tech thread introducing Krill, Thank Ellimist for the spelling corrections smile

Ravus Sol Wrote:How do we feel about posting this in the Tech thread when Krill is summoned? :neenernee

Enter Krill!

The World has changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. I can see the coming fire.

It began with the writing of the books of power. One each was given to the Archmages of Patria. Lords of Elements, Divination, Necromancy and Alteration. Within these books lay the power to control creation itself. They believed themselves gods.

But they were all of them, decieved.

For another book was written. One made to not to control. But to crack open the barriers of the world. Oz-Gabbella, the first woman, poured into the book her power and her cruelty. She gifted this book to the peacful mermen whose beauty has never been rivaled. They used the book and the crack in the world sucked their underwater city straight to the Hellish Valuts of the Damned where they burned in agony.

Oz-Gabella laughed. The Water God Cried for his people and fell into sleep. He has not awakened since.

The Book passed to the White Hand. Who in their love of stasis should have smote it! But the hearts of men, are easily corrupted. With time and patience they used the Book and brought down their god of ice to walk the earth.

For a thousand years the ice endured. History became legend. Legend became Myth and some things that should not have been forgotten were lost.

But now a new era is dawning and the book is calling to be read anew. Deep in the mines of Moria elves discovered a dark demonic book. It passed through hands untill Orc eyes saw the words and Orc tongues read the lines of power.

Moria... You should have feared to go into those mines. They delved too greedily and too deep. Now they have awoken the darkness... shadow and flame.

Krill is here! Nothing will ever be the same again!

Hyborem has been summoned. T-hawk had this to say on what we need to do.

Mr Yellow is the last player for the turn and so it will be up to him to do this. I'm sorry If this causes another bump in the turn speed but I still hope we can continue.

Turn 137: Past Army Manoeuvring

AC is currently 50/134 or 37%

I've let my turn updates slip, and with Krill coming in I should update to turn 144 like it currently is.

AC and Rosier

Dunlands is building Rosier at this point. The one allowance that Mr Yellow made in our AC agreement deal. Rosier will take awhile to get anywhere useful. But a fast movement unit in a large empire he will find a place.

Blight Recovery Watch

Here is my City screen, my cities get better and better each turn. Broken Entwash is the only city deadly hurt by the blight, everything else is doing better. Most of the cities are building things to help during the blight. Some for the military and some for the economy.

Great Prophet city

Still ticking away to my Great Person.

Broken Entwash and Marked Units

During the Blight, Broken Entwash comes off marked unit production. A cheap Health building will help, as will going pure food. I also can't pump up the Ac while having signed the agreement with Mr Yellow.

I'm up to... um... quite a lot of marked units. I'm keeping all of them back nice and safe, shuffling them out to replace all the city guards in normal cities and pushing the none marked units to the border cities.

Mr Yellow Empire Update

I always like to keep track of how large my enemies are. Most likely due to playing as the Orcs for so long. For them land is power, one of the only ways to get power with their flaws, so now I constantly keep an eye on my rivals.

Mackoti is still using his flood plains to ramp out settlers, Sareln has the nice self enclosed empire. But Mr Yellow still seems like he has too few cities

Alliance Army Composition and plans

This is the Old Alliance. Notice the word "Old". Certainly didn't last long did it? Anyway this was what we had all bunched together. This was the staging area. Things quickly broke down into arguing over how to attack and then got worse when some brought up the idea of "not" attacking, maddness!?

During the planning (and argueing) I sent a few assault Ideas to my ally members. I tried to do a little light miss-information here. I whited out everything important. But honestly I didn't care about that, I just wanted to look like I was whiting things out, so that anyone who looks closely at the technology being researched will be able to figure out it says "Sanitation". When actually I'm researching Infernal Pact.

Sareln took one of the plans and made some changes. The end plan was to do a pincer movement. The main Orc and Elf army approaching from the south and the Hippus attacking from the West.

It was hoped we could lure Mackoti to reinforce the southern city by approaching with a slow moving army then Mr Yellow charges through the opening with the super fast move army.

AC is currently 50/134 or 37%

I have no idea If anything ever did happen in this turn that was interesting. But I doubt it. No Ac boost, No wars, no plans. Just continuing the plodding

Tech Trading

It's been so long that I can't fully remember the order of events. Did I know about the Vampires getting the CoE before this? Mackoti does certainly have hawks now or soon though.

Better Map

Update on my map. I was hoping to post this at the time to get everyones opinion on Mackoti's land. A bit too late now though.

Thus ends the turn where nothing happened.

Turn 139 on the other hand... LOTS happened.

Bravo, sir!

Deceiving your allies while reaching for the end of the worls behind their backs... It's just perfect!

I should pay more attention when you lurkers go quiet... Lets try and get up to date and then i'll show you the Epic turn that is 145.

Turn 139: Snowballing in hell is a sight to see

AC is currently 50/134 or 37%

Interesting to note is that Amelia dropped from 603 to 582 I honestly hadn't noticed such a drop on my first play through. Looks like the "worst hit by blight" goes to Amelia :neenernee oh well. All's fair in Armageddon and war.

Why can the bad guys take cities with no loss of life?

My Hero heads back East, he will never be a heavy hitter, not at this late stage of the game.

West Expanse

The new cities aren't powerful. But they are growing fast. White mountains has a work boat waiting on some fish, a resource I don't have yet, once the borders pop I will have another new health resource.

New Staging Area

With my mobility hasted priests I make it to the new staging city faster then the Elf army. The elves are all stuck on one move and my shaman can't haste allied units, only our own. Yet even my three move army isn't fast enough to keep up with the Hippus Horsemen. However they will be staying in the north as if they head off now they would get there TOO quickly.

Cities

The cities get better. Little by little we always get better.

Shrine ETA

I finally managed to pop my Great Person. The Scientist heads off towards lonely Mountain and will get there soon. Of course... I currently have an Agreement not to raise the AC so the Scientist will just have to sit there... biding its time.

Western Expanse

I'm quite proud of this western Expanse. It creates a new defensive line while also opening up a possible third settling ground beyond the White Mountains of the West. I have an agreement with Sareln not to found beyond the Misty Mountains so this is the only area open to me.

Elvish Recon

Sareln has been very good during this time with sharing his Recon. He is the only person in the alliance with Hunting. His recon of the Big Bad is the best and it shows.

The Vampires try to get peace with the Elves, they aren't trying hard, demanding money isn't exactly the best opening stance for negotiating a cease fire. Seems to me that it was more a grand stand to see if Mackoti could cow Sareln.

Bannor Lands

Here are some shots of the Bannor Land. Some wierd city cultures. I can only assume this is due to Sareln selling settlers and that when you sell you get a kind of half view of the land you left behind?

Turn 140: Orcs sometimes forget titles because they don't believe in titles and can't understand the difference

AC is currently 51/134 or 38%

Hippus and Amelia drop 7 points in score, I guess they are still suffering from Blight too. Yet I'm getting it under control and still expanding while doing so :neenernee the joys or planning ahead.

Expansion and borderline

This is the Misty Mountain border. As you can see the majority of the defence is in Lonely Mountain, but a lot is in The Gap, the only city with a training yard. Why am I mentioning all this when it's meant to be just a picture about the AC and the two settlers heading West?

Stay tuned!

Blight Begone

I can finally declare the blight troubles over. At least for my own nation...

And yes I do have that many markets being built! I'm Greedy!

Allies and Enemies, whom is whom?

Sareln and Mackoti are in a Cold war. Building up on the borders. You will notice that Amelia has open borders with the Vampires. That's not good for us if he manoeuvre's a force through Amelia's lands. Hopefully Mackoti is just as worried about my own "open border" policy with the Amurites.

Wonderful Event, Orcish Pirates! Can you Imagine it? No? That's because they don't exist

I don't have the money. But it's a rubbish event anyway. At least when you are playing multiplayer against humans.

List of Events, Who needs historians or soothsayers?

You can see the Pirate event. But that's not important. Mist loses a city to barbarians! yikes I knew the man was playing a low military game but that's crazy. It could also explain some of the strangeness of his borders?

Sareln my ally also gets into guardian of nature civic. So he too is safe fully from the Blight.

Fishing beneath the sea, I'm there waiting for tea

No I have no idea why I am embracing Orc Rhyming. Anyway The Fishing boat grabs me the fish resource. Good for growing White Mountain and also good for health for the nation smile

No the world is at war because of the ATTACK BY MR YELLOW!

AC is currently 51/134 or 38%

Hippus drop yet another 7... I wonder who was worse off in the end, Amurites or Hippus? Oh well, it matters little.

AC pauses

We pause the AC for now. Damn agreement. But Rosier is nearly done and that will leave the AC right on the edge. Perfect for my future needs.
You can also see that the Infernal Pact is nearly done. I just keep winding down the Tech rate so that I don't finish it.

Barbarian Dancing. It happens

When I took over Kalocy the Barbarian city I freed its defenders right behind its attack stack. Because I have peace with the Barbarians they can use my roads. I've been keeping a warrior in Sarelns lands and I keep renaming it things like "Four more coming" "3 more turns" "Last ones" to keep him up to date without bogging him down with mail.

Oh and a Ritualist tries to make a run for it to meet up with the Army before it heads of... He will probably be late but a Ritualist is damn useful.
