I have ten minutes to make the choice. I could hold out an extra turn. It will take 2 turns for the vampire stack to get into my land. I could hold out this turn. See if Mackoti moves himself into a vunerable position...

Diplomacy in War. Joyful stuff.
Mr Yellow of the Hippus
Quote:I do have interest in the war and I will fight Mackoti to the death with or without you.
With Sacrifice the weak, the shrine and Ashen Veil spread complete I have no more reason or methods to raise the AC. Combined with Sareln Halfing it with Pines and any need of you to "stall" me should be ended. I will be tied up fighting Mackoti soon and you will be tied up fighting Hyborem.
I offered a peace treaty in game, If Sareln doesn't offer you open borders then you may ask to pass through my land instead. I want Hyborem dealt with before he becomes a problem just as much as you.

Mr Yellow did NOT offer a cease fire or peace treaty. His horsemen have dissapeared but I don't want to have to worry about them. It would take me ten turns or so anyway to get to his land if I try to pull of Castling and Sareln already told me he was going to open borders with Mr Yellow (But Mr Yellow doesn't know Sareln told ME that.)

I don't think I can help you with much here, Ravus. Having been sold by Sareln hurts (of course, it's just an in-game thing)...
Vampires are just too strong... Heal + mobility + summon spam... If you don't have some crazy beaker advantage, there's nothing you can do to take them.

Yeah, no magic win button or weakness.
Do you want to throw in a opinion on the fight or flee decision?

Or you could all have the newest save. Damn Turns are going fast, sheesh, the turn you summon a demon or threaten world war everyone slows down. But as soon as the blood starts flying everyone is on the ball speed wise.
I've glanced at the save and i'm going to walk away and think for a few hours. I think I have the time to do so.
Mackoti wiped out the remains of my Stonewardens. But remarkably they managed to kill 2-3 vampires. Should I see weakness and attempt to hold out and find my moment? Or flee to take over Hippus or Bannor lands, hoping that this forces Sareln to counter attack in 10 turns and bankrupt Mackoti?
Diplomacy:
No mail sent to Mackoti yet
Sareln does a map trade so I can see Vampire lands
Mr Yellow agrees to peace, meaning I don't have to fear attack from him for 10 turns. (Increases chances of holding action against vampires.)
Vampire Count = 21-3 = 18

Did you play the turn yet? Damn, timezones... Couldn't look it earlier.
Things I'd have like to tell you. You can kill Mackoti's hawk in Sareln city with your stone warden.
I think you should keep on with the defense. Spam Diseased corpses and few ritualists for support. Diseased corpses are immune to death damage, so spectres are always strenght 3 against them. Albeit they are only strenght 5 against spectres after bronze weapons.
If you can promote one of them to cannibalize, that's good.
You really need HBR, diseased corpses can't be hasted, so you'll need mobility on the ones in the back row. Well... Maybe the back row should build priests, since they get mobility from the get go (even the warren one).

Not against Spectres. Cannibalize only gives a heal against living units, so spectre spam will still wear down a cannibal dead as much as a non cannibal one.

I used a more expendable warrior via haste to kill the hawk. Mackoti has more and as a one turn build its not going to upset him that much. Especially as he can base them in Sarelns land.
This fight would be much more even if Sareln hadn't opened borders with Mackoti.
Looking at myself I can't help but worry if the motivation to stay is pushed by stubborness and the motivation to go is pushed by maliciousness, leaving Sareln holding the bag, denying him the war of rivals and leaving him surrounded by Vampires...
hmmm.
