[SPOILERS] Novice and SevenSpirits play Suleiman of Korea

Got two turns in quick succession today. I'm still following my solid but rapidly expiring micro plan. Here's the second turn, t44, in a single shot which accidentally captured everything of note.

1) Lewwyn came up to our borders with a warrior and declared war. Handily, we'd just built a few extras, and it had turned out that the new city didn't need immediate protection. So we have four warriors that can respond to the situation. I offered him a 10t peace treaty. I'd be mad except we declared war to get through his lands earlier. Btw Lewwyn's scout also showed up in the north, but can't do anything bothersome except defog tiles.

2) Founded our fifth city, tying Lewwyn again in quantity. Smoots is not a word. That's OK, they're Epic.

3) LeGas and Mackoti both finished writing. I offered OB to Mackoti. A few reasons: a) Our warrior (left) is itching to explore his lands. b) We're going to get Sailing in 2-3 turns I think, which will allow us to profit as I believe we have a route defogged. Meanwhile Mackoti does not have a route defogged yet, so I don't think he'd benefit. c) He's likely to get an island route available soon. d) Let's show we're willing to be friends this time. The other players may fear us unreasonably, and we need a friend.

P.S. The scores in this shot are misleading as they include the capital third ring land points for everyone else. We jumped into the score lead after ending turn.

Judging from his posts in the WW-thread and his PB7-thread he is drunk so maybe it was the alc declaring war wink

Great stuff. Are horses online now?

Next city could be Flawed Coos or Foaled Cows.
I have to run.

I'm terrible at anagrams, and have to use the computer to decode them. One of the suggested solutions for your proposed names is "Fecal Woods".

Nice, but maybe too dirty?

Great turn pace here, I'm missing some turn reports though. smile

Sorry, I'll try to catch up.

I didn't actually know what an anagram was until I started lurking this thread, but since then I've been having lots of fun with exploring this wonderful new world lol As an avid etymologist, this is right up my alley. So thanks for bringing anagrams to my attention.

Regarding possible city names based on civ techs I discovered two anagrams that I thought were pretty funny:

A Claptrap Rebels
Great Inferior

OK, so here's what we've been up to. I'll go city by city.

We last saw Attach Mimes completing a granary on t44. It grew on each of the following turns, returning to size 6 after t47. I'm now going to do a worker-whip-into-settler thing again, before resuming growth and the chariot build. While the whip anger isn't counting down, there's a resource we're not exploiting!

Blameless Yin's path has been pretty much planned out for a long time. Work food + engineer, build Colossus. I did insert a warrior earlier, which necessitates adding a chop to the menu, but that's it. Colossus and Great Engineer are proceeding as planned. I can't wait for them to be done so we can get some infrastructure in here; granary and lighthouse will both be fantastic.

Cruel Guitar made a granary, grew back to 4, and spat out a settler as soon as I found a good use for one. I managed to find a spare worker that could run over to chop a forest, and the settler can be 1t behind. Look: "F" is going to work the furs for a turn, and the plains forest hill for a turn, producing 7 hammers. Also on its second turn, the chop will come in, completing the monument. THen the worker can camp/road the furs and by the time it's done, the wheat will be encultured. F is going to be a great city in the medium term, it's another greedy resource plant like E, though with crappier auxiliary terrain. I figure we should try to get ourselves a few great economy cities and some supporting production cities. I'm really thinking about city specialization in this game, which is something I never really got before. F can probably be a decent GP farm, with 3 food resources and not many other good tiles.

Dominate It is a support city, and that's putting it nicely. Hasn't even gotten more than a single chop of worker attention. It will probably stay at fairly low sizes and whip out units.

Epic Smoots got a quick little plan made for it. Two chops a four turns of tiles make a granary, then it grows in 2-3 more turns after that with the potential help of a grassland farm. And as soon as the culture allows, we'll be starting to improve those tasty food resources.

So what else is going on in the world? We got our trade routes with Mackoti after ending turn, presumably somehow related to revealing his capital. Sweet. Lewwyn's still tied with us at 5 cities, and Mack and GaNH still have 3 each, bizarrely. Did they get some workers ganked or something?

t48 came just a bit ago, and I played it. Things are looking good. I decided to let Cruel Guitar borrow the corn to grow in one, as I want to get a lighthouse here by the time Colossus finishes. We have coasts and a lake to work! Meanwhile Attach Mimes used the conveniently lowered foodhammer count to put just 18 into a worker, whippable to overflow into a settler next turn should we desire it so. Dominate It turned off Avoid Growth and reached size 2; it can grow to size 3 next turn by borrowing the cow, which AM won't need at size 4.

Next turn we'll settle F. (I'm partial to Failed Sum myself, or Flume Aids.) This will catch us back up to Lewwyn, who settled city #6 this turn. In fact, everyone but us settled one this turn, so the other two are at four each now.

Here's some intel on foreign lands.

Mackoti's new copper city in the top right.

I love Failed Sum, both the name and the spot.

If my "Lewwyn city" sign is correct, that looks like his Hindu holy city, based on cultural borders.

"Not They" is just... baffling.

Settler from AM goes to... northern flood plains city (2N of copper)? Seems like the spot our workers are best positioned for, anyway.
I have to run.
