Again, all comments are from prior to reading any of the games that closed. It looks like I underestimated how long it would take to reach Currency, but Financial + floodplains + Noble is quite a combination for teching! I found those games which popped Currency from huts to be hilarious. Looks like Civ4 has a way of wrecking the most carefully laid plans!

I'll compile the reports on Thursday in case we have any late stragglers. There will be another Gentle Adventure in about a month's time.

on the stonehenge comment, I actually popped mysticism from a hut very early so I could've built it, but I felt like there were more important things at the time. I probably should've built it though if only for the GPP, because I could never pop a prophet the entire game no matter how hard I tried (I got like 8 scientists and it was driving me crazy)...

When I discovered that there was no Aluminum within reach on our landmass, at least not for the more peacefull player, I thought this was a nice little twist in your plan to make a space-victory more challeging.
It's a nice twist still, only not put in there deliberately by you.

The early lack of decent defenders didn't prove too big a problem. There were just some rogue barbarians, but they showed up late.

Maybe next time some gentle war game scenario, to get us more comfortable in war?

I enjoyed the game (it also helped pass some hours over Easter), but I especially like the fact that a lot of new(er) faces posted up reports. Vive le RBCiv!

The comments are very nice

Both Stonehenge and the Oracle should be impossible to get, unless the AI really screws up!

the CS slingshot made a few appearances even. This was my first game on noble (and Vanilla) in a long time, so I was really surprised by the AI's slowness.

The other thing that I found interesting was how little the tech path hurt my progress, for sure the fishing->pottery->writing->math part of the required tech progression, was if not ideal then a very strong. Instead of hurting I think it helped. Maybe latter this week I will put up my unfinished game, but I can tell you that I had Civil Service before Bronze Working. Who needs Bronze with Skirmishers?

The currency pops were sooo funny, so was the Bronze pop. I got nothing but low gold.
