If people start abusing this, I'll withdraw to the hardline stance of "if it's not explicitly in the agreed rules it does not happen".

Presumably the deceased could choose to:
(a) Remain unspoiled and continue to banter from time to time in the public thread
(b) Join with someone else as a partner, and also banter in the public thread

b) seems potentially imprudent as they'd be spoiled on their own previous land

Given that anyone is permitted to post any screenshots they want anyway... what's to stop them posting a big screenshot of all the land they know of when they're on their way out? Or writing about what the land is over there, what resources are around, etc.
I really think it wouldn't matter too much with a dead person joining with another civ, given how relaxed all the rest of the rules are.

That's a strawman. We're talking about someone posting in someone else's private thread, not in the public thread. Remember you're only allowed to communicate with other players in the public thread. If it actually comes up and someone asks politely if they might join another civ I probably wouldn't object, but to say it's relatively OK by the rules is really stretching it. Personally if I'm eliminated I'd keep quiet and become a global lurker btw.

Well, assuming I die, which is likely, I'll probably make a final comment here, then enter lurk mode.

Hey sunrise, I sensed some strange disturbances on the force (i. e. power graph) coming from your direction lately. I hope you are not planning in breaking our peace relations...
By the way, we have hunting and slaving a spearman is not hard, albeit undesirable.
Let's keep cool!

Those are good rules Mist. You cover exactly what I was hoping you would. Specifically my hope is that a defeated civ can info-dump (makes sense in-game as the survivors forming a government-in-exile) if they want after death rather than having to guess as to when to show screenshots, etc.
RE: Parkin, I also pretty strongly feel that a) and c) should be allowed and b) not. As others have said b) gives help to one and only one team, which is something we've worked hard to avoid here.
@Ichabod - You're Mali If I were to attack you it would be after your OMGHAX defender no longer has an edge versus anything I could throw at you, so approximately 47284726592764 turns from now That said, I hope my continued non-scouting of your land, as well as the fact that I've been busy killing a Roman choking party, speaks to my peaceful feelings towards your civ.

Good to see all these happy warriors coming to visit my lands of peace, love and freedom.
Now if you'd just put down those clubs we can all have fun...
