TT has switched research from Meditation to Hunting... a bit strange. I mean, it's a sensible move if he's really in trouble with being choked and urgently needs Archers... but why switch now, when he's 2-3 turns out from claiming Buddhism? The right time to switch was many, many turns back... or better yet, before he even started on Mysticism. If you're that close to finishing Meditation though, you may as well just grab the religion anyway, right?

Or maybe he switched because he now expects to be eliminated and doesn't want to give his conqueror any extra perks. I honestly don't know what his thinking is here... he seems to be all over the place, I can't understand his decisions. Regardless, it's a bit of a shame if we miss out on conquering a holy city, but still no big deal I guess. tongue

Next turn we'll try to sneak a peek into TT's capital tile. At this point the Scout has served his purpose anyway, so if he dies it's no big deal... but it'd be nice to see into that city for information purposes. Besides, there might actually be a decent chance of survival anyway if TT is busy dealing with more pressing concerns than rubbernecking Scouts. wink

Doesn't hunting also enable spearmen? frown

Yeah, it does. We just have to hope that the current choke on them will delay them hooking up Copper long enough that they won't be able to build many (or any) Spearmen. Hopefully even if they hook it up they'll go for Axemen first to get rid of the Warriors they've been dealing with to date.

I'll keep an eye on the tile and note when (or if) it gets connected up.

TT's capital city is undefended...

Maybe he has another Warrior nearby, but still... surely a bit risky. Wonder if we should post a zoomed/cropped version of this in the public thread, to pass on the info to ASM and Elkad. Thoughts?

They settled on Marble, which explains the 2 hammers per turn early on. Geez, practically a perfect Oracle start, with an Industrious leader to boot. If I'd got a start like that I would have been jumping for joy. Just a shame for them that they're making such fundamental mistakes in other areas. Well, good news for us. wink

They have at least Wheat and Cow in their capital's BFC in addition to some flood plains. The absence of any improvement on the Cow confirms that they haven't gone for Animal Husbandry... which is a bit perplexing. Again, good news for us though, since they don't know where the Horses are.

Quote:Whatever way I look at it, this doesn't seem like optimal play on his part from any perspective.
Yeah, agreed.

Love that city name. I never thought I'd see the day when a big boat was coming my way.

Finally hooked up the Horse, and started on our first Chariot in the capital.

Two turns until the Gold mine is built and our research situation improves slightly.

Fair enough. On reflection I tend to agree; it won't really help us to mention anything. ASM and Elkad are already choking TT, and if the capital remains empty then they'll find it soon enough anyway. Best to stay off the radar as much as possible for now.

We might actually be able to snipe it with a 2-move chariot...
