Scouts cannot pillage or attack, though they can stop a tile from being worked.

No Scouts can not pillage. They can stop you from working a tile though if they sit on it

Meiz hooks copper, and his power rises. His capital is nine tiles away from mine, so I'd probably be able to (just about) have a chariot online before he gets there. Worrying times though.

Turn 40-

Big turn today I founded my second city and revolted to slavery. I meant to do that while the settler was moving but I played in a rush and forgot smoke

I also have visibility on Meiz's research because I've been focussing all espionage on him, probably a bit unfair but I'd quite like to annex him at some point and he is much closer than any other competitors I have found.

Future plans, are a bit up in the air, I do want to settle on the third city sign soon. Admittedly copper is in the second ring, but the hill is defensible and I want to get a city between Meiz up quickly. I wont found until I have at least one chariot there though, and am considering researching hunting and archery next.

Turn 53- Sorry for the lack of reporting but nothing much has been going on, I've simply been chopping out workers and trying to make the best of my terrible capital (own fault).

The Empire

I plan to expand to the 3rd city sign and quickly chop out a terrace in order to get access to copper. The problem with this plan is it leaves me without copper until approx turn 70 AND the city is settled between me and Meiz (who has access to copper at his capital and a steadily growing power). As a result I am teching Archery and should be able to get some Archers out of my second city in time for the third city plant. Hunting also allows me to hook up my ivory for some needed Happy.

The Units

I have 5 workers (which is nice), but I only have one chariot and three Quechas unit wise, consequently an attack from Meiz could well wipe me out of the game.

Techplans

I've reconsidered somewhat and I think I am going to head to Monarchy after grabbing archery. My happy cap is pretty restrictive with gold and ivory being my only reachable happy resources, and I will be getting Terraces up soon which reduces my dependance on chopping for production (whips). Currency is also unneeded at this stage with huge map tech costs.

Looks a bit ominous, although Meiz is currently teching Mysticism which is hardly a military style tech. (his previous two techs have been AH and Fishing). I am going to keep my chariot(s) hidden for the next 15 turns or so and hope he brings axes if he wants to fight.

Bottomline is if he does attack I'm pretty screwed, however most other people seem to be playing a military light game, and I'd rather gamble a bit at the start and try and keep up.

I founded my third city two turns ago, it's named 4getful elephant. But the necessary textspeak may or may not prove too annoying for me to stand so that could be changedlol.

I put two chops into a terrace immediately, that'll be up in 4 turns, 5 more turns for borders to pop then use two workers to hook copper around turn 76. I have PRO archers and chariots until then so I believe I'll be fairly safe. In addition Meiz is teching writing so I doubt he is planning to attack any time soon.

Elsewhere in the empire, I have terraces everywhere. I will let the military builds finish and then go onto a settler build (2 pop whipped) in GroundedFalcon and a Library build in ObeseAntelope, while it regrows. The library may be swapped to military depending on how I feel.

I think I'll send the settler to the gold city site. I am thinking about pushing it one north of the city sign. That leaves the site a bit exposed, so I may settle the crab site first.

What kind of compressing are you doing to your screenshots? They look really distorted.

they seem stretched a little wide - like the aspect ratio was off when resizing them.
