Pacal of the Indians: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Fast Worker

Alright, so bit of an update on the war with Luddite:

Here is my stack 1SE of Omar:

And what is in Omar (some of which is available to attack obviously)

The basic plan is to road the forest NE of Baoding, then hit with a cat, then with everything else. You can see by the signs what is in the city.

Also, demographics after ending turn:

So as a team right now we're 1-2-5 in MFG, 1-4-5 in crop yield, 1-3-4 in land area (!) and 1-2-4 in soldier count (!). Only thing we are really behind on is GNP, as we are 4-5-9 in that.

Gah, really really need catapults. yikes

Shoot, I'm going to be doing another round of drafting soon. Do you want more musketeers?
Reply

Yeah I need more cats. The reason I don't have as many of them is just that they take significantly longer to get from my productive core up to there.

Let's see how this current assault goes first. I suspect my next major military move may be with cannons, which obviously musketeers are just as good as regular muskets with (although better to produce those drafting than me slow building them I guess).

Shoot, second thought. Let's wait to attack Baoding and Macau until you have some cannon. There's no real need to hurry at this point. We've already botched surprise; but the bottom-line is that is that it is still an impossible front for Lewwyn to defend. Whatever he puts in Baoding will simply die to massed collateral. Also, the city might go into revolt in the meantime, in which case you strike out of Marlo and kill it. So, how about we work on assembling a massive army or muskets, musketeers, knights, and cannon, then make one "go-for-broke" offensive to knock China out of the game.

I know most of your production is tied up right now, but I just wanted to put a couple things on your radar for consideration in the future.

Workers - As always, I could use fast workers for hacking through the jungle.

Navy - Both Team #2 and Team #4 lack even Optics. If you put a ship our two into that sea between the teams, they could wreak havoc, gaining xp, tearing up nets, and blockading. For example, a ship blockading Nabaxo's island claims would pay for itself in short order with blockade gold. A galleon with a few muskets aboard could fork coastal cities, potentially raze one and stuff your coffers with pillage gold.

Shoot, Speaker logged in right after you finished your turn. I'm getting goosebumps. How secure do you feel about Maurice Levy?

I noticed a problem with your cities.

Where the fuck is Wallace? Huh? Shoot. Look at me. Where the fuck is Wallace!? HUH!?

Thanks to the entire team for the great threads. smile

I do actually have a Wallace (although I like the reference). It was a backline city between me and WK, so I guess I forgot to mention its settlement, but here it is:

Also, I had forgotten to mention it, but 4 turns back now I started a golden age. Here are the demog comparisons from back then

Finally (and somehow I don't have pictures of this smoke) I captured at razed Luddite's city of Baoding. I'll post my loss totals for it after I next log in, can't remember them of the top of my head (but I certainly came out ahead with it). Since then, Luddite has piled this massive stack into Macau:

Hence why we are going to focus on hitting either Gangzhou or going somewhere else with our mobile stack which has healed up thanks to our GG explorer healer.

Hey Shoot, was looking around in game and had an idea: you should throw up the National Epic in D'Angelo for a super Great Engineer pool. They could be really useful in the late game.

Any plans on where and when to throw up the Globe?

Eh, I have better spots for National Epic than diluting the GE pool -- notably Orlando and Omar both have ridiculous food surpluses.

Probably not until I go into nationalism, which likely won't be until at least rifling (actually that is something to discuss...should I switch into nationalism now while I'm still in GA?)
