RBP7 [SPOILERS] - The Chronicles of Nyania

Back home, we've got a busy bunch of Workers chopping and roading away. The western Gold city will be founded in 5 turns, and the road linking it up will be completed before that.

All going well, the road will extend past the western Gold city to link up our newly captured Copper city to the rest of our empire. This will be easily doable in under 10 turns if we put our efforts into it, since we now have 5 Workers (one newly captured).

Oh, and one other thing... TT has gone to 0% research, perhaps hoping to upgrade some units (good luck without Copper wink ). As a result, we can see exactly how many beakers he has into The Wheel. Cost of 103 beakers less 48 turns at 1 bpt = 55 beakers. Not necessarily that useful, but good to know. smile

Way to turn the tables around thumbsup Any designs on the Carthaginian Capital?
Reply

Well, I wouldn't exactly say the tables have been turned around yet, but they're certainly in the process of being shifted. wink

The capital would of course be wonderful, but I have a feeling it might be more trouble than it's worth if TT plays defensively. We'll see though. If he makes the slightest slip-up on the defense, we'll definitely take full advantage. smile

Nice play LP, can we see an empire view, please?

How many chariots do you have in a position to potentially attack TT's capital next turn?
And what would the situation need to be in his capital for you to attack?

Yeah... easier said than done, of course. Would have been so much easier if we had Copper, or at least if Googly didn't have it so close. Ah well, just have to play with the hand we were dealt. tongue

Sure, will grab a screenie of the big picture view next time I log in.

Potentially four. Will move to reveal max tiles around the city first. To attack directly into the city there really needs to be nothing else threatening nearby, and even then I'm not sure. It'd cost us quite a few Chariots, and there's a non-negligible chance of complete failure. A lot depends on what TT has in the fog and whether he uses the whip. Will see. smile

I'm not too concerned if we can't hit it right now though. At the very least, we should be able to inflict enough economic damage that TT will never be a threat again. So whatever happens, his days are probably numbered from this point on.

A little Skype conversation about the game.

[08:41:17] Nebez Kassem: Is that about our attack?
[08:41:22] Nebez Kassem: Because I was sort of asleep :P
[08:41:28] evilparkin: Yeah
[08:41:30] evilparkin: No worries
[08:41:40] Nebez Kassem: I would've voted to keep the city anyway
[08:41:42] evilparkin: It was about whether to keep or raze the city
[08:41:48] evilparkin: yeah, I think (hope) it was the right decision
[08:41:54] Nebez Kassem: Can we brute force an attack on that spear?
[08:43:43] evilparkin: Maybe, but it's pretty risky... will wait to see if anything else appears
[08:43:54] evilparkin: If he has a second spear somewhere we could be in trouble
[08:43:59] Nebez Kassem: True
[08:44:05] Nebez Kassem: How many chariots do we have?
[08:44:26] evilparkin: Will try to bait him to move his Spear out of the city, I think... doubt it'll work but who knows
[08:44:31] evilparkin: Currently 7
[08:44:40] evilparkin: More can come soon
[08:44:53] Nebez Kassem: Considering how bad he has played? I think it just might work actually
[08:46:03] evilparkin: Well, hopefully
[08:47:03] Nebez Kassem: What are the odds for an attacking chariot currently?
[08:48:03] evilparkin: Something like 1%, but doing damage means the odds will increase quickly
[08:48:15] Nebez Kassem: mm
[08:52:11] Nebez Kassem: Careful so that warrior does not take back the city fron our hurt charior
[08:52:58] evilparkin: Oh, he won't
[08:53:06] evilparkin: Will reinforce it this turn
[08:53:13] Nebez Kassem: :D
[08:54:47] Nebez Kassem: Damned spear
[08:56:25] evilparkin: Yeah... not too much of an issue as long as there's not another
[08:56:50] evilparkin: It's unfortunate the lay of the land meant there was no way we could hit his capital without being seen in 4 tiles or less
[08:57:01] evilparkin: Otherwise we could have walked into an empty city...
[08:57:26] evilparkin: Ah well
[09:00:24] Nebez Kassem: Well, that's civ really
[09:02:21] evilparkin: Yeah
[09:02:43] evilparkin: Really we're just fortunate he was short-sighted enough to have such poor defences
[09:02:56] evilparkin: Otherwise we would have had to raze for certain, and probably would have lost quite a few Chariots already
[09:03:18] Nebez Kassem: mm
[09:04:09] evilparkin: Then again, if we hadn't had such a crap start we wouldn't have needed to invade anyway. If we'd been lucky enough to start in his place, we could have done far better with it.
[09:04:21] evilparkin: But no point worrying over stuff that we can't control smile
[09:05:48] Nebez Kassem: I think this was more interesting :D
[09:05:57] evilparkin: True
[09:06:07] Nebez Kassem: If we can get a full kill this early, we will have a lead on our neighbours
[09:06:15] Nebez Kassem: Their capital is a nice prize
[09:06:35] evilparkin: Apparently the lurkers think so too... several thousand more views than the next spoiler thread... wink
[09:06:43] evilparkin: Yeah
[09:07:04] evilparkin: If not for that irritating Spear I'd be very confident... but it does throw a bit of a spanner in the works
[09:07:11] evilparkin: We'll manage though, I think
[09:08:01] Nebez Kassem: :D
[09:57:28] Nebez Kassem: Ooh
[09:57:37] Nebez Kassem: Lot's of lurker activity in our thread
[09:58:06] evilparkin: Heh, yeah
[11:05:21] Nebez Kassem: Aaw, TT is admitting to be a noob, how cute...
[11:05:42] Nebez Kassem: Didn't realise that everyone in that PB are vultures xD
[11:06:46] Nebez Kassem: And did he put that sig specifically for this? :D
[11:07:54] evilparkin: OMG HE MOVED HIS SPEAR OUT :D
[11:08:02] Nebez Kassem: WHAAAT!?
[11:08:08] Nebez Kassem: WHY!?
[11:09:18] Nebez Kassem: Did he just give up?
[11:11:06] Nebez Kassem: I think I'll post this log btw, I think it's entertaining for the lurkers to know how and what the team plans
[11:11:21] evilparkin: No, I moved a Chariot onto his Wheat as a troll, sort of taunting "you can't take this"... yet he did...
[11:11:30] evilparkin: I'm just writing a post with a pic
[11:11:33] Nebez Kassem: Dumbass
[11:11:45] Nebez Kassem: Yeah
[11:11:49] Nebez Kassem: He's right
[11:11:54] Nebez Kassem: He's a noob
[11:12:27] Nebez Kassem: It's awkward to make me laugh when I'm at work xD

I logged in to see what this meant.

Oooooooooooooh dear.

There was a Chariot there on that Wheat. I was really just trolling him by moving it there... you know, "I'm stealing all your Wheats and you can't do anything about it". I never thought he'd actually take the bait.

I'd like to assume that maybe he just wanted out of the game and deliberately sabotaged himself. But I fear it may have just been a genuine "WTF,F,F,F" moment.

lol

So... anyway... do we burn it, or try to keep it? We're up against a 2 strength Warrior (99% odds) and a 2.3 strength Spear (68% odds) which will have a promotion if it moves first next turn. We only have two Chariots available next turn - one was killed, and one had to move south to guard the new city. Risky, but perhaps not unreasonable. We were quite lucky our fallen Chariot did so much damage on the way out really.

Thoughts?
