For the record, that post I made was the one I was originally writing back to ASM. He messaged me after I'd started writing it to convince me to work out the details quickly rather than spamming back and forth in the thread for an hour.
For the purpose of the readers, it certainly seems neater to compile it into one post rather than wasting everyone else's time (and ours) spamming.
I'd rather see the diplo thread spammed. It's part of the fun, IMO

Well if it rubs people the wrong way, its done and won't happen again. I should point out that this is not like the 1st time when it was just us not reading the rules. This time we consciously made a decision to save 20 posts over several days to hash something out immediately to save time with the intent of keeping diplo visible between us.
I cant' speak for LP but alteast I saw that he intent of that rule forbidding diplo outside of the of this thread as in the spirit of maintaining perfect diplo information. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But in the interest of full disclosure there you are. If you really want to interfere in negotiation, I propose that you make us negotiate again or something. If you're out to be legalistic bastards then you can do something else but I was under the impression that this was supposed to be for fun.
If you really want to be legalistic: You didn't even do anything about it the first time other than throw a stink and post a bunch of frowny faces before do a ingame bounty system. Whether that was or was not a joke, I dunno but if it wasn't you could construe that as an implicit in game treaty which I should remind you is non-binding.

I think this is getting out of hand.
This game ( aw with diplo banter, not full-diplo with aw ) was supposed to be fun and not so serious, the rules were drafted with this in mind and I'm getting increasingly unhappy with how people try to push them.
Therefore ASM, LP and everyone else -
Next time anyone initiates any sort of diplomacy outside this thread I'll have all sides involved miss a turn.
If I keep seeing complaints about timer gaming I'll make a rough survey on the subject and have people pointed by clear majority as offenders miss a turn.
Red this as a clear message : If you can't leave unhealthy competitive streak behind the threshold of this game and play according to the spirit of the rules I'll try my damn hardest to make you. Or I'll just make you quit.
I want not to have to moderate this game too much. You certainly want me not to moderate this game too much. So don't make me get involved, we'll all regret it.

ASM & LP -> Surely you should both know by now that you don't need to break the rules to beat me with my noobish play!
Also, I'm completely screwed unless turn rolls in next 10/15 mins or so because got Blackpool Comp tomorrow so I expect to miss the turn or end up playing in final few minutes.

That's too bad. I did an epic misclick that may have made you happy.

This is getting out of hand too, in my opinion. I don't know much about what is heppening in the game, since all the information I get is from this thread, which I'm not following to closely either. But it seems that there's some active coordination going on between some players, a lot of clock manipulation and things like that.
I only joined this game because the rules prevented this things from happening. I can take that people aren't following the "spirit of the game" (not a lot of diplo, play your turns fairly without clock manipulation, etc), since there weren't hard rules on these subjects apart from the 2 hour rule (which was broken by some people sometimes, apparently).
But now the "no diplo outside of this thread" rule was broken two times by the same people. Why? I ask. Aren't the rules clear enough? The first justification given to the rule being broke ("We didn't know the rules") is very, very, very hard to believe. I'm sorry, but am I supposed to believe that ASM and LP, two very intelligent guys, didn't read the 5 rules or so that we have for the game? And am I supposed to believe that LP, who conducted a lot of diplomacy in PB4 wasn't doing it in PB7 (with other people besides ASM), despite not knowing that it was forbbiden? And it happened that the 2 guys that didn't read the rules were the ones that entered in out-of-this-thread diplo and they only did it between themselves... Amazing coincidence, that is.
I really don't want to question anyone's integrity here and it pains me to write this, but I don't like when people try to play with the intelligence of others.
But even if the first time was an honest mistake (let's not take into account the fact that players are supposed to read the rules), it happened a second time, after everything was cleared. Why do it again?
And, by the way, what's this supposed to mean:
"I posted that in the diplothread so I'll just copy htis message there if you want to"
So if LP didn't want you to paste it there, you wouldn't do it, ASM? I hope you can realize how we can understand this wrong and be very mad.
I don't care about who is going to win the game, but I find the way some of the players are behaving to be very disrespectful towards the others. It pains me to do it, but I can't agree with Mist decision to let it go another time. I really didn't want to be the bad guy, but this is too much. Anyway, we decided that Mist has the final say on things, so I won't say another word about the issue. But I had to voice what I was thinking.
Sorry if anyone is offended.

Like I said, I've been more than open about proceedings. If we wanted to be tricky, we would have never mentioned it after all I only became aware of the rule the first time after posting the chat in my thread.
I'm sure the lurkers can confirm me saying along the lines of 'I want to inform LP first, I'll post this either way, asking is just to be nice'.
I didn't even post it in my thread this time and instead posted in this thread after negotiations finished. But of you want to call me a liar just call me a liar and go find some replacements. The only reason I talked to LP about this was because I didn't want to spend 20 posts since we are both busy people.

You're missing the point. You shouldn't be spending all that time on diplo for this game.

You can always ask help from lurkers. Mist have played turns for several players and probably could help you too.

Yeah, it has grown apparent that I am not on the same page for that. I was trying to get an answer from the lurkers about the nature of the game but they kept thinking I was justifying my rule breaking.
Anyway, after reskimming the planning thread and PMing Mist I've come to the conclusion that I didn't sign up for a light hearted for fun game with visible diplo so people wouldn't be so angry after the game as I had thought but that this is instead a CTON with pointless banter with ability to coordinate dogpiling of people doing a Sullla impression am I right?
Also, Parkin end your turn or I'm voting to skip your next turn but since you're not online its going to be 6 more hours either way isn't it? -_-'
