Hello, guys!
This report is better than the last epic's one.
For the short story: - Picked constitution
- Diplomatic Victory
- 1896 AD
Check it out to see one of my dumbest moves ever!

Nice report as always. I'm definitely enjoying the stories you've provided in the last couple of Epics/Adventures. More specific comments:
- It was strange to see you push all your cities east of the capital, especially given those rich floodplains to the west. I suppose the thinking was marble initially, then iron later, right? Your core of cities looked dramatically different than just about everyone else I've seen.
- Montezuma and Victoria both asked you to join their war effort on successive turns, in 50 and 25 BC. I found this extremely amusing.
- In terms of gameplay comments, you have a ton of tiles going to waste around your capital in many of these screenshots. Perhaps if you compare to the land usage in some of the other reports, it will help you when you play more Monarch games in the future?
- For a "Diplomatic" win, that sure had a lot of wars, didn't it?
Thanks again for the report.

First of all, thanks for the input!

The first was marble for the Oracle. The second was the coast and the third was Iron. I saw that floodplains on the west, but I didn't want to cottage them. It seemed such a waste of the floodplains.

One of my main problems is my cities being so small. I think I use specialists too much.

Another nice report fbelintani
I also have tried getting early machinery with china. From an engineer or oracle. But I found the same thing as you: crossbows are terrible at taking cities. They have worse odds than swordsmen against archers, but cost 150% of the hammers. OK, the CKN can do collateral, but the extra cost does not make up for it. Much better as stack defenders or as stack-busters for enemy troops in your territory.

Very entertaining report and a well played game . I seem to be typing that a lot lately, but it is sincere .

Just a note in passing...the key to managing WFYABTA is to trade for big techs, not small ones. The counter is based on number of techs traded and not number of beakers traded. Also, early trading is actually good because there is a decaying "forget factor" AND because trades don't count with AIs you haven't met yet.

Yeah... I know it. But the AI hold big Monopoly techs that usually are what you want. And they always have the small ones. Unless Mansa is around, I don't almost beeline to Alphabet. Middle to late game is necessary, but in the early game...
It's one of those "not so guaranteed" strategies that makes each Civ game so different!
Hope you come with another great idea soon!

OCC high-level games where i aim diplomatic from the start, for example, i always beeline alphabet and trade my heart out. i know those factors will mean WFYABTA is not an issue with several of the leaders.
note that the "other folks in the bottom half of scoreboard with you when you're there" clause does include dead civs, who don't tend to trade often.
