I can already see my starting tech idea wasn't original... Quote:Mao has been told that there is another great land other then the one he lives on today. He understands his destiny is to rule this new land. For that Mao has been giving ships that can cross great distances, and the ability to study the stars in the sky. I guess I should have been more literal. Astronomy to study the skies, and galleons from astronomy to have ships that can cross great distances (oceans).
Fun game to read through, LK. You made very good use of all the Great People that popped up - especially all those Great Engineers! FIVE of them?!
![]() I found it amusing that you reached the New World in 1270AD... a full 6 turns before I got there in 1330AD. ![]() Great Report! ![]() Sullla Wrote:Fun game to read through, LK. This worked well with our traits. I think one of the big differences since I started playing Civ4 is to appreciate the power of GP. I will concede iron waste turned out to be a bad name. After merging the prophet along with an GE rushed Wall Street, it was raking serious income. Of course the fact that my culture expansions in the new world were from my religion... After seeing some of the other games I am really glad I went military heavy seeing whacko Monty. I was surprised Toku never bothered me.
Nice game and report! I was hoping someone went Astronomy but it didn't play out like I expected, in fact:
LKendter Wrote:My variant goal has failed. I wanted to achieve new world backdoor domination with never declaring war. However, I just couldn't get the momentum going soon enough in the new world. This was probably my fault. I didn't want a coastal start because it would make Astronomy maybe too powerful, but the original starting position was probably too far inland, nerfing this choice too much ![]() Darrell |
