Are you, in fact, a pregnant lady who lives in the apartment next door to Superdeath's parents? - Commodore

Indeed, we can already see that some folks clearly have been.

I'm playing competitively. And I've had combats and potential double-move situations with at least four opponents. But I have never held off on ending a turn over those things. The only times I've logged in and not ended turn are times when the domestic plan needs to be rethought because that actually takes time.

Oh hey Commodore, are you subbed in for spacetyrantxenu now? Let's talk about borders.

We have a clear and natural border. I don't even have to point it out, right? If you stay on your side, I'll stay on my side. I've got no reason to cause you annoyance that you don't create yourself. Your predecessor killed my scout right on the border but I did deceive him to kill his warrior which was roaming my land, so I don't bear a grudge (and I would give you a clean slate anyway). Does that sound good to you? We could go at it instead but it's not like we'd be fighting over and land we could hold so it would just drag us both down.

Good luck with the empire! (Or at least house odds.)

Underestimating my intelligence maybe? I see clearly what you've been doing. You've been consistently delaying ending turn to gain advantage. There are other very competitive players in this game, but at least they are more subtle about their doings and playing how I supposed everyone would: They sometimes double move and even plan it, but not that your whole game is revolving around exploiting imperfect rules.

In your case it bugs me how you try to extract every little advantage available from the rules and still pretend this is not the case. I don't blame you (much) for taking advantage wink, but why not admit what you're doing instead of continuing these half truths.

Right.. so here's my high-five to everyone who is playing this game in the spirit in which it was conceived: as a light-hearted free for all. smile

Our clear and natural border was with Azza, not with you. When you devoured Azza we are left with the option to try claiming some of his lands or leave them all for you. If we leave them all for you we will eventually either be overrun by your larger empire or will be entirely hamstrung on defending those two peak passes. No thanks. But I'm only half the vote on this team and don't play on the weekends lol

Plako, I assume you wouldn't want me to cede all Azza's lands to MackSeven, would you? That would put your empire next in harm's way after mine is consumed by the beast.

In that vein does your axeman want to play hide and go seek with my quecha? He's quite good at hiding in the forest you know.

Sigh, just talk to Commodore or read some other games here before you decide to attack someone with slavery and tech parity, yeah? Especially in the ancient/classical era? All that will happen is the other 14 players profit from our mutual pain.

Those passes have got to be the most defensible border I've ever seen. I wrote a whole bunch here and then deleted it because it's really that simple. The pass is never going to be a good attack path. Even late game ocean paths are better.

I guess you can settle past the mountains if you want, but be aware that you'd be settling next to our core, and you wouldn't be able to hold them very long. So I suggest you don't.

I guess I'll ignore your implication that I'm a total noob and have no idea what I'm doing. rolleye And I'd love to defend at the mountain passes if they were a bit further east, securing me more land. But they are where they are, and if I have to settle past them to get myself enough land to compete I will do that. I'm not sure how much scouting you've done west of those mountains since they give you such a nice land based (defensible) border, but on the west side of them there are other teams who very much would like to expand as well. And their expansion would bottle me up if I artificially limited myself to not expanding your direction as well.

But thanks for deleting whatever you first wrote, you made your post simple enough that I could understand it. plub
