RBP7 [SPOILERS] - The Chronicles of Nyania

Another barb bites the dust. 2 XP for us this time. Handy how they seem to predictably go for the flatland farm tiles... makes our job a lot easier.

Also, that seems to be HAK's Scout 1NW of the Gold. If he comes any closer we might get a nice free snack.

Hi,

I was wondering we could get an update on what happened during the last few turns.

Thanks,

Yes, would be very happy to. Will put together the screenies shortly. smile

ASM seems a bit deranged in the public thread, I'm not really sure how to deal with him... huh Guess the best thing is to just wait for him to cool off and hope he comes to his senses.

In my opinion I would wait a bit before posting more in the public diplo thread.

Yeah, I think that's my problem... posting too much just fuels the fire. Will give it a break for a bit and work on the update here. smile

Okay, so first things first. Here's where TT double moved his Spear to last turn.

I had two options at this point, neither particularly desirable: attack the Spear directly (lose ~2-3 Chariots) or attack and raze his last city (lose ~2-3 Chariots). Both would almost certainly lose us Chariots and gain us little, but at least razing the city would stop TT from being more of a problem in the future. Razing the city would also delete the Spear without having to lose more Chariots defending Aybabtu. (We had 3 or 4 to sacrifice if necessary to hold the city, but it was just better to get rid of the threat at the earliest opportunity.)

So we went for option #2: advance on NuclearRagequit.

We could have had even more Chariots in range if TT hadn't blocked the road with his double-moved Spear. But 6 Chariots were more than enough to take down the 2 defending Archers... in fact 4 Chariots would have done the trick. (ASM has incorrect information there, and I'm not going to correct him.)

The result: scorched earth. Lost two Chariots, but there are hordes more to replace those.

Also, took out HAK's Scout which had ventured onto flatland 1SW of the Gold, right next to a Chariot. Not a good idea.

The end result: a nice little prize.

And that brings us up to date. smile

This guy is pretty screwed up in the head. Like, really really screwed up. It's almost at the point where I don't want to talk with him again. I didn't realise I was dealing with someone mentally unhinged. I shouldn't have to worry about someone hacking me in my personal life over a freaking game.

David: whatever
btw
you should upgrade your forum if oyu still plan on using it
I noticed the version number was real old
I looked up all the vulnerabilities on it
me: That sort of reads like a threat smile
But thanks
David: well I was planning on trying to root the sucker by luring you to open a post
when I could find your IP and spam it to death
if you tried clock games
instead of sunrise's server
me: I hope you're joking
David: would be more feasible I think since client port is a UDP
the PB server may or may not queue connections I dunno
well I had a list of things I was looking into
The auto login thing to disrupt people's turns by logging on and off was #1
The civstats beeper was #2
Gaining control of your RB account was something I looked into but then I remembered you had a forum
and VB 3.8.4 is actually quite secure
didn't look hard enough at your IPB 1.3F
me: You concern me.
David: I told them to find a replacement for me or get me a person to help me against your clock games
I'm still not convinced that my not being able to log in was an coincidence
me: Regardless of how invested we are, this is still a game. You really should not be even considering such extreme, inappropriate, malevolent action. It shouldn't even cross your mind. The fact that it does worries me.
David: lol
I want a fair game
and its actually kinda fun to try some of the stuff you've been taught smile
and its not that malicious, just some service denial
so I can actually play before oyu
me: Look, I'm almost clueless when it comes to technical computer stuff. There is no way I could possibly have knowingly done anything to cause that.
David: since oyu don't have down like TT did
me: Hacking is not an appropriate response.
David: asking nicely doesn't work

Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you need to step back and take a look at how your playing this game. Just look at the reaction you got from ASM (which was way over the top and indefensible itself), and it's clear that you're doing something that's seriously rubbing some people the wrong way. I'm pretty sure you're a good enough player that you don't need to resort to such tactics in a game that's supposed to be relatively casual.

Yes, after having some time to think it over on my flight today, I've come to that conclusion myself. I'll post in the public diplo thread soon with an apology, amongst other things.

I think that's a good idea. I hope the game can continue, I have enjoyed following it and hope to continue. Good luck!
