Plako, HAK, a modest proposal for you two. I know that you've been skirmishing, and from HAK's commentary above it looks like there's bad blood. However, each of you borders(ish) a very powerful empire that is swollen and engorged with at least double the normal land alotment. HAK, would you be willing to poke Parkin?

Plako, we're closer neighbors here. You know very well that Sevemack are the real leaders of the game...Justinian, with a lot of land and the 'mids powering a Representation economy that will blast the socks off of the rest of us. Lewwyn leaped to an early score lead as Oracle-builders always will, but the 'mids are more powerful, particularly to a Spi leader. I have no idea what Sunrise's deal is...maybe just Imp with good land? Someone had to be given a nice start, 'twasn't us.

We're not very clear on the full extent of Germany, but it's obviously large, with probably a very extensive southern coast area...and you are Dutch. We propose a dogpile upon Seven/Mack with a 50/50 split, exception the 'mids which we need ever have a hope making such lofty tech goals as, I dunno, Currency. Given we know they moved from their original clam capital site there is a fair chance they settled inland with their capital anyway. You're a skilled general and an honorable player with a reputation of keeping your deals...if you're interested, show your chariot facing first NE, then SW, otherwise, NW then SE.

Dunno, do double gold and double gems count as good land? Did I mention a river and lots of grassland?

Seriously? That explains how he's already #1 without any wonders then. And how he got COL so fast. lol

HAK, we can both see the awful land between us. If you want to trek for ages through the Sahara towards land almost as unappealing, while leaving your other front open to Plako's notorious medics, you'd be most welcome to. I can't say I'd recommend it though. smile

Also note I'm third from the bottom of the scoreboard and have less cities than many players now.

The real advantage of Sunrise is his neighbours. smile

A RIVER? GRASSLAND TILES? yikes Seriously though you listed my four best tiles (which involved two city plants to hook up as well as a ton of worker turns to chop jungle) that you happened to see while attacking me.

Anyways, I'm not complaining at all, the RNG has been at times kind to me this game. And, I'm not a noob enough of a player to not get some benefit from traits that make me about the fastest civ at planting non-empty cities early. It isn't all sugar and rainbows though - my neighbors are financial Praetorians, financial Skirmishers, and pindicator's strong demos, plus I'm already boxed in in most directions (hence the border deals) and the remaining land is a lot more meh unless you love your cities needing jungles chopped from every single fat cross tile wink

Gotta say though...my least favorite part? It has got to be this weird vendetta from Rome. I expected eventual Praets attacking some Roman neighbor, which is why I've tried to settle conservatively and not leave empty cities. I didn't expect a steady trickle of pillagers, attempted worker steals, and a faux-NAP offer that baited my scout.

Anyways Rome, we talked of a NAP earlier. In fact you suggested I take the deal, putting one city each between our empires, lest you stir up trouble against me. Despite me complying here you are stiring up said trouble... frown

@Parkin - Give me a break man duh I got to Code of Laws via a good old fashioned beeline, ignoring even Mathematics to get there. Anyways, you're a way stronger player than me, with better traits from this point in the game onwards, a with a dead/crippled neighbor. My position in this game is fine (only in MP of course would Realms Beyond caliber players claim score is the metric of empire quality anyways... lol) but as you'll read in my thread post-game if you care to, I've mentioned on multiple occasions that while not rushing a neighbor in my position was ex-ante the right call, it doesn't matter too much how my land is or how I play the hand I'm dealt if I wind up with 8 cities and someone else gets 20. Especially when the guy who may get 20 cities can expand into this:

Or is double gold, wet corn, and floodplains a poor prize?

He doesn't need to settle 20 cities, he got 2 for free.

20 cities? I wish. lol

Well I guess if you crammed them in across all the tundra, ice, desert, and vast foodless plains you could approach that. A more realistic estimate would be about 8-10.

It's amusing how most folks have significantly more tech and cities than me, and yet I'm still registering as the major threat at the bottom of the scoreboard. I guess I'm flattered, but I don't have anywhere near as much faith in my ability to defy the numbers as some of you seem to. lol

I like how everyone is strong enough to defend all parts of its empire from attacks, but no one is strong enough to be a threat to win the game.
