Thoth Wrote:Any chance of extending the timer a bit? There have been several times lately when the turn has rolled late in my night, and I can't always play in the morning before work (and Nabxo has his own RL commitments that don't always co-incide with playing the turns in less than 18 hrs). A few extra hours on the timer would help a lot.
I would be fine with extending the timer a bit. While I would rather not make the pace even slower, if it helps you guys get your turns played, I'm for it. Team #1 and us usually get our turns played pretty quickly anyway, so it probably wouldn't slow down the game much.

Team 2 is up.
We would prefer not to extend the turn timer, as 18 hours on the timer is very close to 24 hours in real life, and it will definitely slow the pace of the game down further. That's our vote as Team 1.

I vote not to extend the timer. I'd rather this didn't drag on longer than it has too. If you're having difficulty playing we can put a pause in.

Personally, I'd prefer not to extend the timer. Despite the fact Thoth didn't have much time to play the turn for Team 4, we've had a fairly decent and consistent turn pace of a turn every 1-2 days or so and our current solution of pausing the game when there's less then 2-3 hours left (at least, that's how I do I) seems to be working fine without causing any problems. Unless people start missing turns or something, I don't think it's worth extending the timer.

As long as people are nice enough to pause, I don't mind tbh.

Yeah, I'd also prefer to just keep pausing. Seems like someone from the game is always around.

Also, I realize we haven't been doing any of the sorts of 50-turn overview posts that other games have done. Would you guys be interested in doing something of the sort on t175 so that we can have comparable points to look back on after the game?

From what I've been experiencing in game, 18 hrs on the timer =~18 hours in real time. Last turn rolled ~23:30 EST. When I logged into the game at 21:00 hrs EST the next day, I had 12 minutes to play 3 civs turns and that was *after* WK was kind enough to pause the game.
I'm a noob to this PitBoss format, but AFAICT in a sequential game 1 hr on the timer = 1 realtime hour.

I'm all for keeping the game moving, but I don't see much difference between pausing the game when a team can't move on time and extending the timer a bit so that teams can play without a pause when RL schedules interfere.
When we can play, we do.
But, the majority of votes are for keeping things as they are, so I won't kick.

How about if we see 1 hour left and you haven't said anything, we'll just automatically pause it for you.

That works for me. And the effort is appreciated.
I try and play my turns ASAP, but Nabaxo and I are separated by 6hrs in time zones so co-ordination is a bit difficult at times, especially given the fact that I do shift work.
OFC, once we tech to Infernal Pact and summon Hyborem, this will all be moot. :ele:
