RBP7 [SPOILERS] - The Chronicles of Nyania

Yeah, we already have Gold, but it's more about the commerce in this case. It basically comes down to 7 turns extra research (~30 beakers) vs 7 turns earlier happiness (a few more hammers/coins in Pwnage and Aybabtu and greater freedom to whip). We need to make a decision one way or the other by next turn, as our Settler is about to hit a fork in the road.

Other random news: the borders will expand at Trololopolis next turn, which is nice. We can start working one of the flood plains there.

Decided to go with the Fur spot first. It'll grow faster and be able to provide decent short-term commerce with the 2h/4c Fur tile when it's hooked up. We'll found the city in 2 turns.

We need to decide on a name. Thoughts? Some sort of meme or popular thing on the internet related to Fur/Beaver? (Aside from the obvious. tongue )

Borders expanded at Trololopolis. Things are looking much better there now.

Lots of Chariots in the city currently because there's recently been a wave of barb Axes in the area. All dead now.

Decided to whip the Granary in Pwnage last turn, as this way it allows us maximum usage of food overflow (we'd have lost 4 food by waiting a turn to whip). Onto a Library there next, as a prerequisite for either or both of the Great Library and National Epic.

The Furs will be hooked up on T88 by the way - 4 turns away, 2 turns after founding the new city.

After debating a great many somewhat inappropriate city names with nabaxo, we thought this might fit the bill:

Dramatic Beaver.

Edit: You beat me to it. wink

Was worried for a moment that a name that long might get cut off, so just tested it. It actually perfectly fits inside the 15-character requirement for city names, so should be good. wink

We met a Work Boat from Yuri over by Azza's lands. Incidentally, a Work Boat of Elkad's is also making its way around that area. They'll both pass by the southwestern coast of I'm On A Boat! in a few turns.

Not much else of interest happening this turn. Pretty much just waiting for next turn when we can found Dramatic Beaver. smile

Current schedules at the different cities:

Nyan City - Axeman currently -> Settler at size 5 (2-pop whip in 4 turns) -> finish Axeman with whip overflow -> Library?? or start another Spear/Axe

I'm On A Boat - Library (chop in 1 turn + 2-pop whip in 3 turns) -> Barracks?? -> Units??

Aybabtu - Spears/Axes until Literature and Masonry -> build Heroic Epic in 4 turns -> more Spears/Axes baby!

Pwnage - Library (2-pop whip in a few turns, hire Scientists) -> Barracks/Unit/Worker/Settler while wait for tech -> Great Library?? or Parthenon?? and/or National Epic

Trololopolis - Library (chop in a few turns) -> Barracks?? -> Units??

Dramatic Beaver - Stele -> Granary

Trying to decide where to put Moai Statues. Was considering I'm On A Boat!, but I think it's actually fairly crappy due to the lack of food (+3/turn max if working the Gold). Other options are the capital, the Sheep/Fish site to the north, or the Fish/Fish/Horse site on the western coast of TT's former land. We don't have Stone, so it'd be best if we can find some first.

Regarding these posts in the diplo thread from Mackseven and Xenu:

SevenSpirits Wrote:Hey Parkin, Lord of the Turn Timer, you know that spacetyrantxenu guy? He really underbuilds spearmen, it's almost all dogs. Plus almost all his troops are out east. You should probe him a bit.
spacetyrantxenu Wrote:I sent 3 spears in that stack, the only way that's underbuilding is if you killed them all since I last logged in tongue

@LP: you scouted the land between us, I don't think you're in a hurry to come this way. But if you've a mind to attack just keep in mind: CG3 archers. Their arrows will blot out the sun. I'm sure there are squishier targets in your area of influence. And we all know Mao loves cheap city walls since he's "utterly broken" as an OP leader. duh
Not sure what the best response is here... possibly just silence. We're not really interested in fighting with Xenu in the forseeable future, but broadcasting that might be interpreted (incorrectly) as a sign of weakness in the east and actually encourage Xenu - or more likely HAK - to bother us earlier than they otherwise would. On the other hand, faking aggression towards Xenu would hardly be a good thing for us - encouraging him to pull back from attacking Mackseven, beef up defences towards us, and possibly even initiate an attack. So yeah, maybe it's best to just keep quiet for now, unless we can come up with a particularly careful response.

LP silence is a first, it might be an interesting tactic.

Dramatic Beaver has been founded!

Annoyingly, I forgot to let the road complete first before founding it, so we lost out on 1 commerce from the trade route this turn. Oh well.

The Furs will be worked by 2 Workers on T87 and 3 Workers on T88 to finish the Camp. Currently the city is working the Cow shared from Pwnage to speed up its growth.

Demographics are looking not too shabby. We're actually about average in GNP, I think - the few folks with insane GNP's doubling everyone else are just warping the scale. We're near the top in food, and we may well become the #1 in production before too long. Not bad.

I'm surprised that we're #1 in land area, since I'm sure several people have equal or more cities than us. Perhaps we've just settled further inland than most? Or perhaps other folks with equal or more cities just haven't got around to getting their border expansions yet.
