Looking at the regoarrarr's post here it is still possible that they arrive one turn too late (T188 invasion then seven turns is T195), though I might have missed possible update from them and they already stated possibility of earlier attack. Looks like Lewwyn's preemptive attack actually might decide the game right there.

ASM's latest update has them winning on T194, so it looks like Beijing will fall.

The current estimate has only 11 artists and one of the cities making <300 cpt, though, so if/when Beijing falls recovery will be more difficult than what it looked like from their previous estimate.

Yes but this number relies on the assumption that Team3's army will proceed unmolested through Lewwyn's lands. As soon as he spots the stack he will count the tiles to Beijing, do a little math and then throw absolutely everything at them, at the expense of all other cities than Beijing. After all he only has to delay them a SINGLE turn to ensure a Team2 victory!

As Hesmyrr pointed out it will be very interesting to see if Lewwyn's planned early counteroffensive will do enough damage to critically delay the invasion. We sure live in Interesting Times

They need to birth 2 more GA before that T194, is that guaranteed? The other thing ASMs last post says "we have 7 artists", you guys need to birth 2 more, but the spreadsheet shows 11. Is he birthing 2 more himself then?

Oh god the next fifteen turns or so are going to be incredible. I seriously hope they can pull off a cultural victory.

E: I do feel sort of bad for Spullla though. I doubt everyone would be quite so concerned about correcting a misunderstanding if it was committed by a different team. Oh well!

Yeah but I think that means a slow, lazy attack aimed at grabbing cities, not the direct strike on Milkshake that they'd need to actually stop the culture victory.

Yeah. Remember when everybody said this game was going to fall apart in an explosion of bad blood and loss of interest? I'm hereby the first to admit being wrong on that one. The other three teams seem to not be bothered if Spullla do snowball on to victory as long as they can make their own "close but no cigar" mark somehow. Team 2 is trying the culture, Team 3 just wants to stop the culture, and Team 4 just wants to outlast at least one of the others.

Do you guys think that they'll reconsider their assumptions when they see team 3 diving for the culture cities? With fast workers and railroads team 1 should be able to get to the cities pretty fast once they wake up right?

Trouble with slogging through the lands of someone attempting a CV is that you will not be able to clear culture by hitting just one city, even the lamest cities are darned near fourth ring already. I'm curious if Beijing will have the TT defense in place, just able to hold several turns because of the sheer choking number of bodies on the wall.

The team 3 debate between MGs and Cavs is also darned instructive, as said above, they see themselves as three allied civs, not one single civ with three specialized parts. And that is why they fail.

This question is what makes Lewwyn's possible preemptive strike so interesting to me. Real Men have plenty of attacking bodies themselves... I just not sure what the best way to hold them off is.
