After the two historical furores concerning the Elgin family, the systematic looting of Greek cultural treasures and the razing of the Summer Palace in China, I think it's quite a good title for an operation meant to smash the culture of an opponent.
All good, glad to get some input
Am partial to Guillotine myself.
@Shoot, WK, what do you think?

That's weird that my mounted stack was in the city...I don't remember moving it in there at all. Indeed, it would have been much better not in the city and available to counter attack. Odd that I don't remember putting it in there...
Anyhow, they didn't raze the city, which was a mistake. Anything they put in the city I can punish hard in a couple turns, so that city is as good as mine (I even have cultural control on the tile next to the city). The only way they can possibly keep the city is by using a GA bomb which I am actually fine with as it will slow down their victory. Considering all this, I think I may hold off recapturing the city until I have machine guns to defend it.
The real question (and one we need to discuss as a team) is should I try to take the city back before hitting their capital? My gut says yes, as it means I get to attack those units with collateral on my side as opposed to Team 2 collateralling me. Thoughts though? Need to decide somewhat soonish as it changes what I plan to do.
Dave, is my golden age supposed to be with the Great Spy and Great Artist I already have or is that GS on my border meant for it?

I put that mounted stack in the city two weeks ago while you were away. It was in response to them seizing cultural control of the adjacent tile. I recall pinging the tile to show you the move on your first day back. Was one reason I suggested we could use rifles in the city
He couldn't have razed it, as they still have over 50% culture on the city center tile iirc. Their goal wasn't to take the city though, otherwise he would have moved everything into it. They're trying to whittle down our attacking army and distract us from the main front to the northeast. It was an excellent opportunity for them to leverage their massed collateral into taking our offensive armies down a notch.
You need to retake Marlo before it pops borders. They still have enough culture on the tiles in the region that they can hold whatever tiles they pop onto, and even threaten to expand further with their use of the culture slider. Stage an attacking force this turn, and hit it the next. Detail off a few Guerilla II rifles s they become available to lock down the city and prevent it falling again.
Yes, your golden age is supposed to be started with the artist and spy. The scientist is for WK.

Dave, you should have left those units out. The advantage of being able to collateral is less when the units aren't in the city and instead are just in range to counter attack. That they can collateral the entire stack means we should have had a smaller garrison (although of stronger units) as opposed to a large but on tech parity garrison. I hadn't realized you moved those in, or I would have moved them out so they weren't wasted to collateral.
Also, I now have 59% Indian culture on the tiles to the S and SE of Omar, so no there's not a terrible rush to recapture it. I'd rather get all my collateral lined up to do it as easily as possible.
WK, do you think you could either gift me the rifles in my land, or make sure to heavily organize with me on where they are going?

I've gifted all the rifles I currently have in your lands. All of my non rifles are still headed towards the staging tile though, so shout out if you want them moved somewhere.

If you want to gift any two-movers (I noticed a sentry knight) that would be good, but otherwise the other one movers are fine to just move to the tile.

Shoot, how many cannons do you think you will have staged in time for the attack?

I don't have an exact number since I haven't thoroughly looked at movement/railroads yet, but after ending turn I am just a bit over 20. I have a number of cities capable of either 1 or 2 turning cannons, so if I had to guess I'd say around 40.
Also depends on when the Kremlin is finished, as I will probably Kremlin whip some out as we get closer to it.

Oh, also a small note, it was nice to find that my coal was already on a tile I had mined AND roaded already, so I immediately have the extra 50% IW hammer bonus. Quite nice.
