RBP7 [SPOILERS] - The Chronicles of Nyania

I also said somewhere that it seems that the use of the word 'casual' was a source to a lot of misunderstanding. Also, why is logging in multiple times an issue? I guess that double move makes that an issue, but when I played I remember logging in tons of times to remind myself how things were looking etc.

@LP: I think it's good for you to keep quiet for a bit...

Just enough beakers left to reach Masonry this turn, as planned. Can start the Heroic Epic in Aybabtu next turn, so we'll have it by T103. smile

Whipped the Library for 3 pop in the capital. Will grow to size 4 next turn, then build a 1 turn Axe on the overflow and grow to size 5 on the following turn. After that, we'll probably build another Settler.

I'm probably going to put that Axe on our Galley (Jolly Roger) and send him up to explore the island to the north. If there's a site or two up there worth settling, it'd be good to know sooner rather than later.

Trololopolis is coming along nicely now that it's grow into a few cottages. We'll whip the Library next turn for 2 pop. (Can't whip it this turn or we won't get Masonry in 1 turn.)

Dramatic Beaver is also starting to become a pretty respectable town now that it's grown a bit. Will whip the Granary there shortly.

I might have missed this before, but what's the long-term plan for the capital? As it stands now, it looks like you are going to make a hybrid production-commerce-research center? But long-term are you thinking of specializing in an area?

Actually it probably won't be the capital for too much longer. I want to move the location to the more central (and far better) city of Pwnage - TT's old capital. That location will get far more out of Bureaucracy than the current capital ever could.

Nyan City itself will probably focus on whipping as much as possible, while working as many of its 9 key tiles that it can (Pig, Rice, Horse, lake, mine, and four river cottages). It'll basically be our prime Settler/Worker pump for the next while, with a few units mixed in. smile

Someone got the Colossus... almost certainly Lewwyn. He had the largest (16 point) score increase this turn, and he got the Oracle (early MC).

Masonry is in. Considering going for Maths before Monarchy... still not sure, so have set research to 0% this turn to allow time to make a decision. We need a few turns to recuperate some gold anyway.

Heroic Epic is due in 4 turns. Ignore the "5 turns" in the production bar, we're using the Corn for a turn to recover some food before going back to working the plains-hill mine. So it'll definitely be done on T103. Looking forward to all the 1 turn 5 XP units from that point on. smile

Library done in the capital, growth to size 5 next turn and an Axe to be produced on the overflow as promised. Looking forward to seeing what the island up north holds... hopefully it's something interesting. If so, the next Settler from Nyan City might head that way. If not, it'll probably go to found one or the other of the Moai city spots next.

That's about it really. Nothing much else of interest going on. smile

That's pretty damn good...That spoiler.

"Maths if we need the chops, monarchy if we need the happiness" said Captain Obvious with his trademark smugness, "What do we need right now?"

Yep. That's seven (painful) pre-Maths chops right there. Worth it for the potential bonus though. wink

Will test out Maths vs Monarchy over the next day or two. My hunch is that Monarchy will still be better for the empire, but Maths could be handy e.g. for speeding up the National Epic. Which would obviously be nice if we do get this potential bonus next turn. smile

I think monarchy too. National Epic with industrious and marble bonus should enough.

Yeah, it's ~100 hammers (rather than 250) with the 150% bonus we have. Though chops get the bonus too, so 20 pre-Maths hammers become 50 hammers towards the national wonder, and 30 post-Maths hammers become 75 hammers. Whip overflow will get the same bonus too.

I'm leaning towards Monarchy too, but will still check it out again before committing to researching it. Hard to estimate right now, but I think it'll be in the vicinity of 10 turns to research - possibly less.

Success! We officially have the Great Library. smile

Whipped the Settler to get maximum overflow into the National Epic next turn. Borders will expand in only 4 turns thanks to the culture from the wonder. Will chop a few more forests after the border expansion - along with whip overflow and a few turns of regular production, that should just about cover the National Epic.

Our first Great Scientist is due in 8 or less turns. Will use him for an Academy in Pwnage (our future Bureaucracy city).

We'll be founding city #8 in 2 turns - located 1S of the Pigs to share the two Golds with Double Rainbow. Aside from the Pigs and two Golds, it'll have an oasis and 3 flood plains.

Thoughts on a name for this new city? Shall we go with Over 9000 (the runner up name for city #7), or something else? smile
