Yeah Davy deserves a ton of props for doing the job he has. Just like in pbem17 the energy and planning he's displaying is making this game exciting. Even if he does ruin the CV (and I would love to see the CV work too), this game won't lose much luster because you'll then have the Factory vs. Kremlin showdown

Indeed. Win or lose, Davy has earned a ton of respect here. That's why I want to see them win. Sadly, they are't catching up in tech, and I don't think they ever will. They're going all in on monster MFG. (Mitigating note: while their beaker count may always lag, 21000 beakers will soon mean only 1-2 techs. Not the end of the world.)

On the other hand, if Team1 attacks first, you might see the t2 defensive hordes shift toward Milkshake... which would work out very well for the Men of Genius!

How does this work? Dave is talking about razing a city he initially settled that was subsequently captured by Sullla. Is it something like once the invader's culture in the city center tile is greater than the original owner's culture on the CC tile, if the original owner recaptures the city they'll have a choice to keep or raze, just as if it was never their city?

Yup - in fact the game doesn't care who the original owner was for this at all - if you have more culture in the city than the other player there's no revolt and you can't raze it.

So, random question- do you guys think bombers and air power will become a major factor in this game? My thinking is that with 3 civs on a team, frontline cities will be packed 3 times more than normal, so it's hard to fit in enough bombers to really do much. It seems like having a huge stack of artillery would be a lot more powerful than the damage you'd get from 4-8 bombers in a city.

@Seven: Thanks for the clarification.

re: luddite - What about just dumping forts all over the front and massing the air power there? With as many workers as these guys have, it should be possible to replace as many improvements as necessary around a front city to accommodate almost as much air power as they can bring to the fight.

Yeah, I suppose that would work. But then you wreck the border city's production, and you're still stuck with bombers that can be intercepted and do way less damage than an artillery.
