spy next turn, woohoo Where are you sending him?
Thanks!
I'll send him to scout Sunrise. Every city (the center tile) I reveal will give me visibility in a 2 tile radius of it (since I have city visibility), making for some easy scouting. I also consider the possibility of stealing a tech like Monarchy, for example. Not sure if its worth to lose the visibility, if I can keep with it (assuming Sunrise doesn't start counter spending EPs on me - I think he prefers to spend them on Pindicator).
But it might be a good idea to make a spy to go explore a bit of Roman territory,

By the way, i had some time so I made a list of what techs people are up and down on us.
Sunrise089:
Up: Code of Laws, Polytheism, Monotheism
Down: Alphabet, Archery
Rome:
Up: Monarchy
Down: Alphabet, Calendar, Currency
Pindicator:
Up: Nothing
Down: Meditation, Priesthood, Fishing, Sailing, Calendar, Alphabet
Lewwyn:
Up: Metal Casting
Down: Alphabet, Calendar, Iron Working
Sleeping Moogle:
Up: Polytheism, Aesthethics, Literature, Monotheism
Down: Meditation, Sailing, Calendar, Alphabet, Currency
Interesting things to notice:
*Sunrise doesn't have archery. No wonder he has so many axes, spears...
*Pindicator is probably suffering in his tech due to heavy expansion. I think he'll be one of the score leaders soon, when things start paying out.
*Sleeping Moogle went for Literature and didn't get the Great Library... That's really bad.
And I think Sunrise is changing between research targets so as to not get a HUGE score lead and be dogpiled. I've seen him teching construction, monarchy in the last turns, for example, without finishing them.

How close are you to having enough EP's to steal a tech? They can be quite expensive

Now, I'm not criticizing anyone. It's just that I don't have the brains needed to discuss things at that level, nor the education. So, instead of criticizing what I can't understand, I'm making fun of it. Pfft you just don't understand the fun of science.

Wow, we're doing pretty well on the tech front. Then again, we're FIN...

Without Horses and the possibility of mobile defense, I think that after Code of Laws, we really need to get Construction for Catapults. I'd start on a Barracks in a city too, so we can start cranking out some promoted units.
Have you checked which city we could possibly use as a Draft camp after we get Drama? There's no way we're getting a 16 food surplus city, but that Rice/Sugar city seems like a good candidate.

So, Rome has Iron Working, but we haven't seen any Praetorians? I wonder if they don't have any iron resources. I'd think that would be a big priority for them.

Sorry, everyone, no report today. I'm not felling very well. I'll try to respond to your comments and report tomorrow, hopefully feeling better.
In the meantime, have a little C&H strip, one of my favorites.
Yes, I'm feeling a little blue....

For the next C & H strip, how about Calvin's magical duplicator?

Ha, so you are up for a battle, Mr. Exchange Rates?
Take this:
You cannot win an argument against me, because I refuse to learn anything!

Yup, FIN + Gold start. Hopefully we can leverage this early lead into concrete things, like Taoism, for example.
I've started barracks on Greed and they'll soon be built in Vainglory too. I agree regarding defense, and I'll talk about our choices in a post after the whole Taoism thing is decided.

That's what I think. Really lucky for us, since we are really close to field units that can at least match Praetorians. They are financial Rome, maybe even with an appropriate start (coastal with water resources), so they probably beelined Iron Working. No iron is the only reason for us to be seeing axes and spears instead of Praets.

We'll see. I'm trying to keep the strips loosely related to what's going on here, so I'm getting past some very precious ones. Feel free to post some, if you want. I'm never tired of reading them.

Well, we will get CoL at the end of this turn, so whoever can login first tomorrow, go ahead and bulb philosophy. We will get the tech instantly, so there is still a race if another team plans on bulbing it too.
We are so close...
