[SPOILERS] 3 Players, 1 Civ, No Clues - Tatan, Nakor, and Serdoa are Darius of Rome

Did take a look. Thoughts: I think we need Tatan to cheer us up because quite honestly I am feeling like attacking sunrise, just in the hopes that he eliminates us. frown

But apart from that, I think you do good. Get some settlers next after the troops which are currently built. For the island cities.

Maybe one of you guys can take a look in game and give some thoughts.

Looked fine to me. I don't think we are in serious danger for the immediate future, and we have dragged ourselves up to the very bottom of the middle of the pack, so I suppose things are going pretty well.

+1. I think Sunrise and Ichabod are both serious contenders for this game, and are still solidifying their own expansions, so I don't think either will bother us for the time being, especially after we get LBs. The last thing they want to do is get themselves bogged down in warfare over mediocre land. I do expect at least one of them to make a push in the future, probably around the time of knights or cuirasiers. So we should try and push the overseas expansion as hard as possible. Plako might become an issue if he tries to found more colonies, so we might consider boating that city of his at some point, but certainly not until we have founded 3-4 more cities in the region.

I don't think we have a realistic shot at winning at this point. But I also think we're in a better position than many. A lot of those middle-of-the-pack players in score are in only marginally better positions than us, but without any nearby islands to flee towards. Most of them will probably fall to more advanced powers in late Renaissance/early Industrial offensives. I suppose the survivable position isn't good if you're looking to exit the game, but to me, seeing how long we can hold out is an interesting game in and of itself. That said, I see no reason to put a colossal amount of effort into this game anymore, beyond the amount needed to just play and have fun.

On another note, a few days ago in SevenSpirits' "payoff times" thread Luddite happened to post a link to this CFC thread, which makes an interesting case for windmills in the late game. So I took an Immortal game I had been playing a while ago and turned every single mine into a windmill. To my surprise, they were actually great tiles to work, allowing various crap cities and production cranks to grow a few more sizes and squeeze out extra commerce, which would be perfect for our bountiful swaths of grass hills. So, uhh, if we can make it to Replaceable Parts, windmills are the way to go. lol

Thanks for the input, guys! Once we can get all those crap cities to size 6-7 and draft rifles, we'll take care of our enemies! lol

I'm investing also only the time to make it fun and do my best. Making the best out of our terrible position is what's interesting!

And another slow turn. Sunrise is 2 turns from CONSTRUCTION!
And Mali presumably just got Philosophy...
What are we doing wrong? banghead

Played the turn; it was nondescript.

Important note to whomever plays the next turn: make sure that axe moves back to Augustus. I moved it out of the city this turn before realizing that it was needed for garrison happiness. smoke

Thanks, Tatan!
I'll try to get some pictures done tomorrow to spice up this thread...

Still not a lot happening with us, though there are 2 GG's born and the discussion is heating up on thge PPT... interesting!
I hope some more people get knocked out before they come after us...

Played the turn, although one of you will have to end it since the game wouldn't let me for some reason. Not much happened; I whipped the settler in Nero.

Plako needs to die:

That's our territory!

Seriously, though, I think we should consider boating him after we settle the mainland crap city spot and the two remaining sites on the island. If he prevents us from getting more island cities to capitalize on the GLH, we are extra-doomed--but unlike with Sunrise or Ichabod, we might actually have a chance at taking land from Plako. Thoughts?

We do need to choose a target once we're out of room to expand.
Plako is as good a target as any and probably better then Sunrise or Ichabod. They are way ahead in tech...

We got graphs of Plako as well, so I've put our EP's on Pindicator or Macseven...
