OK, Mackoti and I would like to give things another try after our awful pb7 start. We can play at ~8 and ~19 UTC.
I vote for airships being allowed because I think they are fine, but I don't really mind.
I do have a strong objection to actual diplomacy in an AW game. If NAPs, other deals, screenshot posting and giving unit directions and stuff like that is to be permitted I think we will stay out. In other words I would prefer either no public thread, or public thread is solely for trashtalk. Relatedly, I would suggest banning gifts-by-capture explicitly.
I also suggest getting start screens before picking as I find that to be pretty fun.

Ok I'll ask it.
Seven and Mack - we're hoping for a game here that is light, quick, and casual. In other words, I'm not really interested in getting roflstomped by 200 sandbox iterations because I'm not going to put that kind of time into the game, and from chatting with Luddite, that was his intention with this setup too. Are you guys on the same page with that? Basically, if you guys are going to play like you normally do, I may or may not withdraw interest from this game because I don't want it to be that I have to sink hours per day just to keep it respectable.
No offense intended whatsoever by the way . I just want to make sure you guys are signing up for the same game as the rest of us if that makes sense.

Please don't take this the wrong way, Seven, but having you and Mackoti sign up for this game together is... problematic. I really wanted this to be a fairly casual game, where we could all play somewhat quickly without falling too far behind. I'm worried that with you guys signing up as a team, I'll have to either spend ages microing each turn (and getting way too emotionally involved with the game) or else fall way behind and have no chance to do anything.
Still, I'm really curious to see what kind of strategy you'd pursue under these conditions. Would you agree to play with some sort of handicap? Here are some ideas I had: - you can only open a save for 15 minutes
- you have to alternate turns, and can't coordinate at all
- mackoti makes the micro plans, and then you have to interpret and follow his plans as literally as possible (might force Mackoti to get better at English and report a game in detail for once)
Really hope you're not offended by this. I would like to play another game with you some time, I'm just not up to playing a super hardcore game right now.

Haha, I wasn't planning to do any sandboxing but I am not interested in playing under handicap either. We don't have to play in this one, that's OK.
Edit: And no offense taken, no hard feelings, etc. Have fun!

By the way, Mist, I'd be happy to play your map if you're still interested. As long as it's reasonably well balanced and doesn't have any major gimmicks it should be fine. My preference would be for one with some water, but where circumnavigation is impossible (less than 33% water), but it's up to you.

Yes, I'm still interested. The map will not have any pre-placed improvements, there'll be happy, food, health, strategic resources, rivers, irigation and whatnot I'm not nearly confident enough in BtS to put out a huge convention-breaking map in type of FFH21 and FFH22.
The terrain will be natural looking and believable, with small twist to make it interesting. The twist will go through other BtS people first though, and will be dropped if they'll have misgivings.
It'll be either Monarch no-wrap or toroidal Noble.
It will work better with 4 players than five.
There will be some water. Playing on it should be helpful, but non-essential to victory.

Mist - sounds good to me.
Let's go ahead and limit it to 4 players. So we have:
1) Luddite
2) scooter
3) Sian?
4) OPEN
First, Sian, are you interested in playing? I thought 29g was winding down a bit, but I wasn't sure what your status was.
Second, anyone else interested in joining? Basically, we're looking to average about 2T/day and we're looking for this to be casual-ish in the sense that sandboxing, micro spreadsheets, and spending giant amounts of time with the turn scrutinizing over worker actions would be frowned upon . Don't have to TOTALLY wing it, but we'd like the game to be competitive, fun, and yet not spend exhaustive amounts of time on it micro'ing every little thing. Would also be preferable if your skill level is pretty close (give or take a little - intermediate-ish) to the 2 1/2 of us signed up. So gets your signups in!
