Did we figure out yet for sure if they go legendary if they win at end of their turn or end of the whole turn? That could be a huge difference at this stage.
The game checks for victory after everyone has played, so they win EOT t191, after we get in one more round of attacks. We can't stop them.
I started getting concerned when we were approaching the city and Lewwyn didn't abandon it or move his GAs out. Scooter has now confirmed it for us. No way Milkshake or Istanbul are behind Beijing, they go legendary next turn as well.
Oh well.
Sending everything in. Up and at em boys!

Yeah, Lewwyn's feeling confident.

I wouldn't say it's all over yet. I agree it's unlikely that Milkshake or Istanbul are behind Beijing that much but still...
When we get the message in the event log that all 3 Team 2 cities hit legendary and we can't take Beijing, then it's GG. Until then, we shouldn't give up hope.

Remaining hopeful, but we're fairly certain we are just a little too late to prevent the CV.
Battle went well enough, though we had a really rough run of luck with 60% battles towards the end.
Will post casualty lists later. WK recorded 50 minutes of video, in addition to the audio of us coordinating on Ventrillo. If there's anyone out there who can assist in uploading and editing it, we'd appreciate it.
At any rate, we've had a good run. We'll see what happens next turn.

So both us and Team 4 will see in the event log that three cities go legendary before (if) they win. I think it's rather fitting that Team 1 doesn't see it.

Assuming, of course, they don't log in between turns, which isn't all that likely.

For editing, the premier free option is VirtualDub, at http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/ . Do you think the entire 50 minutes is worth watching, or would you want to edit it down to some highlights?
For uploading, obviously YouTube is where everybody hosts videos. The length limit is 15 minutes by default, although I and perhaps some others have an account unlocked for any length.

It should become clear whenever we upload the video and audio of the battle, but I wanted to take a moment to explain the figures. Our losses were quite high for the first turn of siege. We came away from the initial bombardment looking pretty good, and then sent in the rifles, only losing a half dozen to kill nearly 40 enemies. At that point, things started getting worse. We were getting 40% odds on the top couple defenders with our muskets/musketeers. However, after we expended a few to knock out the top defenders, we started getting 50%-65% odd battles on the the defenders with our muskets and musketeers. Unfortunately, at this point lady luck abadoned us. I think we lost six ~60% battles in a row, and in the end, came away with far fewer kills than we should have. At any rate, we stopped attacking when we ran out of muskets/musketeers and only had ~30% odds with our next attackers. After getting all of our attacks in, we started spreading machine guns out around the city to cut off the avenues of reinforcement.
If we had unlimited time, we would take the city on t192 or t193. The reinforcing rifles and cannon would allow us to conclude the siege successfully, despite a costly first turn.
We briefly considered not sending in any of the muskets and musketeers, but decided against we might as well after a discussion. The game ends next turn, so we might as well kill as many of the bastards as we can. If all three cities go legendary this turn as we expect, we send everything in and try to rack up the kills before the game ends.
Just being a couple turns too late....
