Yep, after I moved the galley i noticed he was finishing end of turn and we had nowhere to move him. Where are we sending him, btw?

Barb city captured!!

[Image: Civ4ScreenShot0095.JPG]

Hopefully any C&Ders are confused by our 5 point score increase mid-turn lol

Also I misclicked a spearman out of Coneheads. I don't feel like we should ask for a replay, unless we are about to be double moved by Commodore. I don't THINK we are, but if we are, I don't think it's fair to lose due to a misclick there.

So the next few turns are big ones
* GLH t82
* 7th city T84
* ivory hooked up t86
* monotheism and hopefully Judaism t87

We are goign to attempt to get Judaism in More Cowbell, our Henge and hopefully future capital city

I think what Krill is alluding to is that I played within the first 2 hours and took that barb city.

I think he's saying that had I not done that, then Krill might possibly have been able to take the barb city instead of me. (It's hard to say for sure since we're not supposed to be really diploming in that thread)

But the reality is that I had 2 axes there. Neither attacked at the end of the previous turn, and they both attacked at the beginning of the rolled turn.

AFAIK he only had the 1 woody warrior there, though I guess it was possible he had more units coming (although we haven't seen any since).

Again, my mistake - I seriously didn't even think about it. But just wanted to clarify in our thread where we can talk more in details about the situation

Errrr nevermind.

What he probably REALLY is talking about is that Commodore declared war and landed 4 chariots near Blues Brothers.

FML.

Okay.

I didn't say where everything was, but there is just 1 chariot on the northern 2 tiles, and 2 chariots on the plains forest. Both our workers in the area were captured frown

The joke's on Commodore though because if he had waited 1 more turn he'd have captured the Great Lighthouse lol At this point the 174 hammers we have in there are wasted. I wonder if we get 174 failgold if we lose the city and the wonder is built down the road?

Some thoughts:

1) I asked Commodore if he was goign to play ASAP, as I wanted to confirm with you before doing anything and he said he was going to play "later tonight". His units have not moved this turn, and is technically eligible to move at any time.

2) I think we have to swap over to Iron Working (which we have money to run max science for the 8t it would take). Reason being...

3) If he takes BB (and he will), we will have no horses and no metal. First thought was that he is being bold here taking the city on our landmass (just as we are bold doing the same to him), but if we have no metal and can't build spears he's in good shape

4) We could also spend 80 gold to upgrade one warrior to a spear. It could either be the one in BB, or a different one. We can double whip a spear in More Cowbell, though I'm not sure if that works if we lose metal midway through the turn? Would hate to do that only to find we lose it.

5) We could (and probably should) beg copper from Yuri and / or Cyneheard. I looked at options of begging peace from Commodore for say all of our gold but we can't trade gold :rolleyes: What about peace for Coneheads? We'd have 10t to build up and take it back. That would let us keep the GLH.

6) At least we were right about him being up to something lol - we just misjudged where the attack was coming. In hindsight we should have been stationing sentries over there on the coast. A sentry on the desert tile sees those galleys a-comin.

7) For all his talk of not double moving, unless those galleys came from Slithy Toves (and they may have - the city has been at size 1 forever) we'd have spotted them.

8) We need to be careful that he doesn't send more of his chariots southwest to pillage and rape the countryside. Specifically, I'm kind of feeling like we need to upgrade the warrior in the capital and send it to protect the FP area.

Yeah, we're pretty much in triage mode now.
Lets try offering coneheads for peace. I'm only thinking about upgrading the warrior in BB as an attempt to bluff him into taking coneheads.

Where is our galley? Lets shuttle those spears back if possible.

Wait.

He doesn't have copper? That's what he's after then. He may not accept Coneheads.
lets whip a warrior in BB at penalty. If he gets that city then we make him take an angry city.

Shuttle the spears from coneheads back to retake BB. Ask anybody and everybody for military resources. Upgrade the warrior in BB and try to whittle some units down then recapture with the coneheads troops. Maybe offer coneheads as peace, dunno yet

We can't whip a warrior while we still have copper. Did ask for Copper from Cyneheard and Yuri (the only ones with copper). Did not at this time request Horse from anyone

I'm torn between upgrading the warrior in CL and the one in BB. C1 Chariot vs. fortified warrior gets like 89% odds, while a spear will kill 1 chariot and very possibly 2.

So I think you're right that we should upgrade the one in BB. Hopefully he retains his fortification bonus (but I think that he doesn't)

I think we need to keep 1 spear in Coneheads. I can ferry the axe and spear back. Settler down to the Moai / rice site on our continent? With no galley to ferry it over, and no GLH to incentivize a 2nd offshore site, I think that makes sense.
