Other than Seven, who is my #2 pick to win and so probably should sit back and keep a low profile, it's interesting to see everyone falling all over themselves to insist it's impossible to do anything about Parkin
He was an unknown figure in RBP4. I'd have thought he wouldn't be here, especially when, after the first 100 turns, he's pursuing the exact same strategy.

I'd have done it myself if I could actually tech at reasonable rate, or if I could get out hammers at a reasonable rate, or if I could even get my cities to grow at a reasonable rate.

Here you go, Ichabod. I'm pretty sure it isn't claimed yet either.
I know I'm not going to.

Oh, and Re: Lord Parkin. If I have to reenact pbem23 to do something about it, I will.

Hehe, I have inside knowledge that says our position sucks and we're going to lose. So I don't care about keeping a low profile. :neenernee

Sweet! Perhaps you can attack Parkin then. Not really though, since from what I hear the map looks like this:

What's my place in your picks to win the game, Sunrise?
Regarding Parkin, there's an old saying here in Brazil: "you don't change a team that is winning". If he won PB4 by doing that, why shouldn't he do it again?
What is the strategy, by the way?

He's probably spread out fast to a few choke points, defended those heavily with some reach cities / aggression, and is back filling all the goodness in between right now. Oh, and building every wonder in the game. This game seems like a bit of a variation on the theme in that he had to conquer some people first.

Parkin can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it goes:
1) Take a bunch of land that your neighbors inexplicably don't contest.
2) Build all the wonders that your opponents inexplicably don't contest.
3) Goldenyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyanyage.

Yep, I'm 12 points in the lead with other nations beating my GNP by 100+ points... clearly it's game over, I've won already.
Meanwhile, Pindicator gets an 18 point score increase mid-turn that nobody comments on.
