Taking the high road and just saying something like "we're just trying to let everyone know what our experiences have been, but we're happy to play whatever settings the group decides on" could be one of those things. Like goodwill from other teams. It's hard for sommer to vilify us if we're not confrontational and if we actively play nice.

I always preferred the deduction part of werewolf to the deception part, though.

I disagree with this point for two reasons. First, nukes are only slightly after the civics/religion swapping really comes into play (that is it takes until the mid game to really have enough EP production where it is worth it for you to want to use civic swapping missions instead of stealing techs). Also, although the risk with nukes may be less, I can say from experience it really really sucks if you do have a close game at that point for them to be enabled.

The second reason I don't particularly like that line of reasoning is it is essentially going along with what Sommer is trying to do, that is make it "RB against everyone else". There's no reason not to just vote for everything we want and try to possibly convince other teams on our reasoning (just like they can do to us) and then if we lose the vote we lose the vote. Only if we buy into the Sommer's mindset of "RB vs everyone else" do we need to do things like bargain.

I think we do need to open up more threads, and a rambling thread would be nice. Right now many of us are bursting with excitement and ignorance and need an outlet for it, and we only have the supposedly serious/constructive/soon-to-be-messy-as-hell to do so And how about discussing which threads we'll be needing, in order to make an overall internal communication plan?

Shoot, I think bargaining makes sense if we get concessions on another topic. On the topic of nukes, am I wrong to think that they're less of a win button with 10 teams in the game? Takes many more resources to carry out a capable surgical strike, and most players will turn against you. Not arguing we vote for them, but I don't think they should be top priority if we have a choice between what multiple settings we really want.

We state our vote. We can add another post to summarize what settings we most care about and why and then leave it at that. We are just one out of 10 teams (or so) that will vote. If none of the other 9 teams post to explain their vote then we should also don't do it.
