What kind of units were used by SMack in the attack? Guessing no siege if it happened that fast. With that city down, where is pressure now applied to your front?
[SPOILERS] PB7: Winning The Hard Way - Mao Plays Craps
|
Well this can't be good.
Parkin hasn't ended turn yet. Of course. He played last on the last turn and then logged out after the new turn rolled, then logged in and out twice while waiting for the 2 hour timer to expire. I assume he didn't move units in the meantime but who knows. As compulsively as he played early in the game I'm sure he's gone back to the same habits as soon as an opportunity arose. Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
Sigh...I'm scared to look.
Really, Parkin is the worst piece of powergaming pondscum to ever float to the surface, it's disgusting/depressing to play with.
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.
I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.
Xenu, how busy are you? Mounting disgust with this CF is making turnplaying not just a chore but actively unpleasant.

I'm more or less OK on weekends but during the week it's hard to know if I'll be able to sit down at my home computer once a day. Thursdays are a 100% no way I can play (I do server maintenance every Thursday night, those days are usually 12-14 hours at work). But M,T,W,F there's a possibility I can rush through a turn, if that's what we're down to these days. But I'm with you, the fun in this game kinda went away a long time ago. Between being neighbors with uber-gamer/micro-wizzes MackSeven and the (true) ultimate power gamer Parkin, it was probably inevitable that we'd get frustrated eventually.
That said, I'll try to play more of the turns. I guess there isn't a whole lot we can do with our civ at this point except keep beating back the wolves, at least until one of them devours us. Maybe we should go for a suicide zerg rush at one of them? I don't really care which at this point, although targeting Parkin would probably be more acceptable to the masses, given that he's the runaway. Then again, sticking my thumb in Seven's eye one more time would be great too. Either way, though, it'll end in ignominious defeat. I'm sure I can step in for five minutes a day of that! It's the reporting that takes much longer than the playing when you know you've lost. A point that anyone still reading this thread is more than aware of with the updates I've put out lately. Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon spacetyrantxenu Wrote:It's the reporting that takes much longer than the playing when you know you've lost. Lots of sympathy for the position though. Thanks for continuing reporting, I'm not posting much but still following. Edit: Not saying you need to go out at all! But if both of you are feeling burnt out, might as well make it exciting.
On the one hand I'd love to zerg rush someone before we're dead, but on the other hand that would be a bit unfair to do just because I'm tired of playing in this game. What's funny is that given my skill level at this game I probably had no chance to win the game from turn zero (with or without Mao of Native America), but our (well my) decision to throw everything at MackSeven early on after their acquisition of Azzistan to prevent them from becoming a runaway kind of had the effect of giving Parking a completely safe eastern border. We were so tied up in our death struggle with MackSeven that we never have had troops to spare to throw at Parkin, the channel separating us be damned. Looks like it's too late now. I'll check in game in a few minutes to see what happened.

Commodore do you remember what was on those galleys?
It's hard to pick them out of this group. PB5 spoiler (OK for Commodore to read, not other PB5 players): Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
Yup, four dogs. And that was a double move.

Shite. Well so much for our plans. Maybe one day we can double move too. Then we'll be so leet.
