D3 inferno difficulty final boss killed.

Wow at 4k life in hell. My monk is act 3 nightmarr and up to 12k. Although i am tanking for my brother's DH so i am stressing vit over dex. (Vortex is great synnergy with DH grenades and mines.)

Hovering just over 30k life in Hell Act II, and still find myself dying every couple boss packs. 'Course, I did just pick up a couple key pieces of gear on the AH that should up my survival (and damage, if only slightly). Before that was a new crossbow that took my damage from 3.5k to 4.5k. It's... somewhat slow going, but not terrible now that I have solid damage (started Hell with 2.1k damage - wasn't cutting it).

I'm at 24k health, and 6-11k damage depending on if I take glass cannon abilities or not. Elites are what kills me- you have to keep the perfect distance away from them to prevent them from CCing you, and that can be really tough to do. Things would be so much easier if teleport had a shorter cooldown.

On a more amusing note- when ever I watch Sullla's stream I keep going- Oh no he's dead! Because I'm thinking of the mobs in terms of what they'd be in hell, but then I realize it's normal, and he can just 1 shot everything. lol

What I find really interesting is that at the moment when checking the forums for witch doctor inferno builds it looks like there still is a lot of variety. Maybe some cookie cutter builds will emerge over time, but right now people seem to be able to progress through the first acts of inferno with very different builds which is quite impressive in terms of balancing on Blizzard's part.

While that's true Tyrmith, I also won't be seeing everything for the first time in Hell. It does make a difference when you have no idea what attacks/abilities the monsters have on them.

Normal difficulty finished today. I'll write up my thoughts sometime today or tomorrow after completing a playthrough for the first time.

Well, I guess with that much HP you were prioritizing VIT over DEX so it's not surprising that your DPS would suffer.

It depends on your level. The amount of HP you get per vit increases pretty dramatically as you get close to 60. On my 59 WD I have around 32k HP and nearly twice the int as I have vit, and I expect to gain ~1k HP when I hit 60 without changing my gear at all. smile

Edit: Actually, scratch that, I have 1k int and 700 vit, so not double, but still prioritizing int over vit.

Soloed Inferno Belial with a glass cannon DH build (18k hp and 38k DPS w/o sharpshooter). Lost count of how many tries it took. One of the hardest fights I've ever beaten in a game because one hit from anything including the snakes would kill me.

What Injera said. I have over 1200 Dexterity at the moment, with just shy of 34k life, and only managing 14.7k DPS with skills. This isn't quite enough to farm Act I Inferno comfortably, so I'm trying to get something a little better than what I have off the AH (which keeps going down and bugging out, preventing me from advancing).

So, while posting this I nabbed a decent bow that's brought me up to just barely shy of 17k. This should help ease Inferno a tiny bit, but really I want to be at 18k bare minimum (preferably at 20k+). The weapon makes the biggest difference in DPS, and at the time I had been using what I considered a decent weapon (although I've since about doubled the base DPS, which along with other gear and gem improvements has brought my DPS considerably higher).

The more and more I ignore vitality and go for resists the more I'm convinced it's the way to go. I changed a bunch of my gear around and almost halved my health, but I'm so much more tanky because I stacked resist all and armor, even at the cost of a ton of damage. (I'm not sure if that's the most effective one, but figured it was a good one to start out with). I went from 15-20% resist, to 50-60% resist, and there's a massive amount of difference. Of course, I probably don't want to cut it anymore then I already have, but if you're going to get 1 shot or 2 shot with 20k health or 30k health, there's no real reason to stack health. smile
