It's not against the rules, though I can somewhat understand the frustration. Others have used the same tactic in the past, if not in this specific game then certainly in others. Anyway, I haven't even been doing it much recently - checking in on the game more than once per turn has been more about double-move paranoia. (On that topic, I really wish we'd just add a rule against double moves and be done with it... it'd greatly reduce the stress both from worrying about them and from people arguing about them. Had I known in advance the trouble that lay in store, I wouldn't have signed up to this game in the first place unless double moves were ruled out.)

My objective opinion on changing research is in the absence of strict rules, the risk is its own penalty - i.e. forget to change back (or be unable to log in to do so) and waste hundreds of beakers on something you didn't want.

I don't even have contact with 4/5 of my closest rivals... seemed too risky to delay it when they couldn't be too far behind. Plus, would rather have the Taj (and the backup option of Nationhood for drafting) sooner rather than later - if only for peace of mind.

The Great Spy will probably go into a Golden Age, as espionage won't be particularly useful for us. (Can't steal many techs when you're ahead in the race.)

Please, post lots of pictures from the spy's adventures. It would be great to see the lay of the land.

Also, name it something like Dora the Explorer.

Didn't change the name yet... Dora the Explorer was already used by a Roman Work Boat we killed a while back. Could still go with that, or something else.

Misclicked the Great Spy last turn, so lost a move unfortunately. Oh well.

Seems Elkad has some troops keeping an eye on Azza inside his territory. Interesting to know.



Also, we can see Lewwyn's borders to the west of Azza. Closer than I thought he'd be.

A very late Moai... got slowed down due to a lack of Stone. Also forgot to chop a forest that I should have, which was silly. Anyway, done now.



Then there's this thing...



Other cities were busy with other things, and would have taken ages on the Taj, so I decided to chop it out. Time will tell if that was a good idea or not. No more National Park for this city, though we could always build it elsewhere.
