As for starting earlier than this Friday (local time), I'm just specifically not going to. I'm as keen to start this as any of you, but I know from past experience that once we actually start playing turns, these types of games tend to dominate my thoughts in a way that I just absolutely cannot afford, at least for the remainder of this week. Being admin for this game was basically plopped into my lap last night, so I've got to somehow fit this into an already impossible week.

On the subject of turn order: I agree (surprise!) that it would be fairest for my team to go first, to make up for our bad position in the snake pick. On the other hand, I'd hate to see anyone have to put a lot of work into rearranging things to make us go first, because I frankly don't see it having a huge impact on the game. I'm speaking strictly for myself here, my teammates may well have different opions.

I don't mind either to have whatever turn order is easiest for you to setup.

I mistakenly assumed you didn't have enough time to set up the game, when actually you are delaying starting up the game to concentrate in RL, a decision I understand completely. On that note, it seems you'll be able to set up a test game after all.
Since a large map fits 9 civs and a Huge one 11, I think the map will be huge.

nabaxo: an alternative is using the internal email notification system in pitboss itself? the server is set up to send out emails, but people need to go to the menu and add in an email for their civ/team.
