That was a fun game to read...did you think about spinning off one of your islands as a colony? Like Qwack said, the colonial expenses are on a sliding scale, the first is free, with two cities you start paying, and I guess by five cities you are paying out the nose. I'm not really sure from a gameplay perspective what the goal of that addition was, but I doubt they accomplished it.

Yeah, I agree...it simplified the task of changing hammers to gold (or beakers for that matter).

playshogi,
Good game...I was surprised as well to see the AI not vote for itself, I thought that was hard coded behavior. You seem to have some kind of strange graphics issue with the leaderheads, at least in the screenshots. I wish they had just made the turns take less years in the early part of the game, I really dislike the months as well.

Looks good Ozzy...you must hate us for dragging you into war with all the SGs we play . You're lucky you didn't declare war early, the deadline was 1000 B.C., not 2000 B.C. (says the guy who broke the rule).

I'm just a peaceful player in SP games, as most SGs are a war-fest, makes a nice contrast.
Why did I have 2000BC in my mind If it was anyone else but Hammurabi I would have broken that rule but the bowmen made me wait for catapults.

Had a chance to read the other games now as well. Well done all. Odd that all are space victories (although playshogi could have gone domination).
Glad that Justinian beat me to the other cities on the island after reading Sulla's report .

http://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/showt...#post26184 Hi playshogi. In your third picture you show your early empire building 3 courthouses in your capital and other close cities. Were you attempting something cool with spy points here?
Quote:Finally, the war weariness is eased by capturing the Statue of Zeus
Did it actually reduce the WW in your cities, or just stop it increasing quite so rapidly?

I imagine this could be annoying. You can stop your vassal launching a spaceship by directing his/her research, but a culture victory I cannot think of many ways to stop.
Anyway, nice game.

http://www.garath.net/Sullla/civ4_epic13_1.html Well yesterday was another Monday morning when reading a Sullla report made me late for work .
Kidding, I enjoyed it a lot. Told my boss that the traffic was bad again .
Quote:I also should point out that in creating this game, I set the difficulty to "Monarch", while selecting the Babylonians (they were the first in alphabetical order). This had no effect for those who played as Babylon, but I later found out that for everyone NOT playing as Babylon, the AI was actually handicapped (it was playing on "Monarch" difficulty, while all the other AIs were playing on "Noble").
How you do generate the saves? Do you save the worlbuilder file, then load it again by going to Play A Scenario? This gives you a screen asking you which civ you want to play, and then a screen asking you which difficulty.
Quote:Why yes, that IS the free Great Artist that the Dutch are stealing from me. Argh!
Jeze, that's pretty annoying. Music seems much more valuable now, since the GA is either a free golden age on it own, or can lightbulb theology to build the hugely important apostolic palace.
