But it's not wisely - the first two leader picks should be Willem and Pacal. They are the best leaders, hands down. I just know how most of the Internet feels about these leaders. For some reason, there's this obsession with Huyana and Inca. The general opinion is that this is THE BEST leader and civ out there, probably because people are used to rushing the AI on Deity/Marathon with those quechuas. I'm actually pretty surprised that Huyana hasn't been picked already yet. I'm just relying on my knowledge of what Civ4's equivalent of "General Discussions" thinks is the best.

@Sullla - I certainly agree with your list of the 5 remaining leaders (Pacal, Willem, Mansa, Mehmed, and Huyana. I wonder though if you have any thoughts as to whether or not any of those should be prioritized over any others due to spy missions being allowed. Off the top of my head that would make me take Mansa third for easier civic switching, but I don't think he jumps Pacal or Willem.

As good as Spiritual is, i don't it actually matches up to Pacal or Williem. Why bother with spy missions if you can use your traits to leverage out a huge advantage early game, such that by the time the enemy can use spies you're in a far better position?

I'm convinced we are going to get targeted by Sommers and his vassals with painful civic and religion switches at every opportunity, and I think our leader should be as flexible as possible to be able to withstand that.

Spies are only available at Alphabet, and even then they still need time to build said spy, and send it over. Unless his vassal BEELINES alphabet and focuses only on spies, which is indeed the worse case scenario, then we'll have a relative time of safety.

Furthermore, if we go that way, we're playing not to lose. This shouldn't be our game. We should be playing to win from the start, which includes civ/leader selection.
