Played a 4-person FFA w/ Pindicator, Scooter, Oldavy. Ended as a draw between Davy & I.
I had Ragnar of Babylonia. Bowmen are awesome. Impossible to kill cost-effectively if you lack chariots, and they can hold hills like champs. My capital had no commerce but excellent production, so I 1-turn built a succession of them early on & razed Pin's first settlement. I then settled aggressively toward him, and heavily fortified our border. I then turned my aggression against scooter. I had a bowman fortified on a hill giving me visibility into one of his cities. It had only warriors and an axe defending, so I secretly moved in a squad of chariots through the woods, then used some combat workers to hit and raze it before he could react. That city held his copper, so I finished him off with more chariots and bowmen. Mercy-killed Pin with a chariot, after he had to go & had spent most of the game OCC. Spent the rest of the match building, before we ended it with about 30 turns to spare. Davy had more score, but I was catching up- some combination of quicker expansion, faster teching and/or higher population growth. I knew he had HA, so my border cities were stacked with CII, Formation spears. I suspect he still would have won at the end, but not by much. Davy asked me to post some pictures of my land so, here you go: ![]() Also, former Scooter lands: ![]() Pillaging those netted me hundreds of gold. And Ex-Pinland: ![]() I was just starting to pillage it, to fund my last-minute teching for score.
Ah, I was wondering why Scooter was playing our duel pretty fast after he started the RB MP.

If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

A little late, but better late than never, eh?
![]() ![]() Played in the FFA game with BCW, Scooter, and Pindicator. While the three of them were playing Bowmen 101, I was quietly building in my corner of the map, trying not so crash my economy with too many IMP settlers (seriously, the temptation when they're so cheap is huge). Nabbed the Oracle, the HG, and the GW, ran a decent sized military, and just threw cities all over the place. At the end, with about 30 turns to go, BCW and I were both about dead-even in score. With the sheer distance between us and LBs about to come online, any offensives from either of us would have been extremely difficult. I suspect I probably could have stayed ahead in score, but it would have been very close; he was catching up fast with his pillage gold fueled economy. At any rate, neither of us wanted to play buildfest for another hour, so we called it a draw. I had a feeling the game would be over rather quick when I saw this start: Quick, spot the tile with greater than 3 food!
My start was ok. I just had bowmen as a neighbor.
And no metal or horses
