Just to play devil's advocate for a second, right now we are guaranteed one of Pacal, Willem, or Huyana. Is the fall off from Pacal to the worst of those three bigger or less than that from the first civ choice still available to the third?

With the in mind...I still vote Pacal The civs at this point to me (that is once India and Inca are taken) don't have as big a difference between them as do the leaders.

@Shoot - I appreciate the question, but I think you answer it correctly. After the top two civs the falloff is huge, and while the third best leader left is still good the leader decision has a much greater impact.

Bonus - Civs I think can be counter-picked better, so we benefit from knowing the opposing civs and then picking ours more than opposing civs and then picking our leader.

@Nabaxo - Darius was a very solid pick, obviously assuming equal empires he will have the largest economy. I think the case can be made that he's the third best, particular if we're really spread out. Still, I'm that we can land Pacal.

Here's another perspective: Maybe the Spanish team are deliberately picking a bad leader and civ just purely out of cockiness? They think they can beat everyone, despite their awful choices?

At this point we can't go wrong Huayna or Pacal both are great, so maybe it's time to start thinking about our Civ on the way back.
