If I remember right he's been doing pretty poorly in tournaments lately, in particular that curse tournament that was a week or two ago. Business is business I suppose. :/

Noooooo! Not YoungDiva!!!!!  Seriously though, these teams change members at a blistering pace. If a team stays the same composition for six months, it's considered a long time.
IPL qualifying tonight, going to be casting TSM Evo against a team called Pentachill. It's supposed to be live tonight at 9pm EST (unfortunately 0200 GMT), so feel free to watch. I think this is where they stream the games: http://www.twitch.tv/ipllol

IIRC, Pentachill made a reddit thread a while back about trying to find scrims in preparation for this match. Kinda forgot what happened to them. I know they are 1500-1900 Elo players, so total underdogs. It should be interesting to see how they try to play against a team like TSM.Evo.

I know this all too well, ESL used to suffer terribly from little to no organisation and 100% relied on the players to work things out. One thing you shoud learn from years around multiplayer communities is that if you want something done you need deadlines and leadership.

It seems you are sliding in the "commentator" position instead of the "narrator", did you guys talk this through? Was this the same guy from your previous cast? The one that disconnected? It seemed like you have a better chemistry with this one, or that you are getting better together.

I don't do anything for preparation, unless you count creating several hundred League of Legends videos previously. I've never thought that being a broadcaster for sports would be that difficult, and it truly isn't. Know the event, know the players/teams, and analyze what you see. It also helps to pretend that there aren't several thousand people listening.
The goal all along was for Tom to handle the streaming and play by play, while I would provide more of the analysis. We were knocked out of this the first week because Tom's computer blew up and he disconnected during the first game.
As far as the games go, it can be more challenging to cover the stomp games because there's simply so many kills taking place all over the map. You're going to miss some when there's 40 kills in 20 minutes, and it's harder to explain what's taking place. The first game between TSM Evo and Pentachill was about perfect. There was a real narrative and flow there to the action, and it was genuinely close until the two dragon fights swung the game. The second game was much worse. I hate it when pro teams start trolling their opponents, but of course you have to pretend otherwise during a broadcast. Esports can't be taken seriously so long as teams keep trolling like that. (Imagine if Chelsea only sent out nine players during their summer friendlies tour. Disrespectul much?)
