Not that bad, really. One wants bronze working anyway, and they're still two techs away from impis (mining and bronze), while we are one away from WCs (AH), so I doubt we're in the toilet, even if we end up as neighbours.

There's one guy wanting a rule against early wars here:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread...st11570571 What do we think? Regardless it's really not the right time to be bringing this up when we're most of the way through the civ picks. It gives Hunting civs a big boost if they know they're safe without going Warrior first, for a start. That's supposed to be part of the package; increased early exploration at the cost of a military unit. (Don't want to mention that though in case I influence any picks.)
Awww man Zulu, I was sure they'd go Rome
I get the feeling that a ban on early wars will end up vetoed by other teams. It may be better to remain quiet for the minute so we seem a bit less argumentative. Hopefully, Sommerswerd will speak up about it first if he is against it no harm in agreeing, if he doesn't we could question why this settings change is allowed during picks but others aren't. slowcheetah Wrote:I get the feeling that a ban on early wars will end up vetoed by other teams. Sounds like Boudica of Zulu is already making some teams sweat.
But yeah, the game hasn't even started yet. There's plenty of time to prepare for early rushes if needed and a rule would sabotage at least the spanish team early on as well as other opportunities for chokes or ancient wars.

Isn't there a 'peace' period before barbs can enter borders hat allow you to go worker first? I assume that period is what he's trying to protect.

Barbs won't take on cities in the period before there is 2N+1 cities planted on the map, N being the number of players and barb cities IIRC are discounted. I found this out with a scare early on in my SG career.
