Everyone gets the warrior and the scout.

If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.

First impression. In case we're Financial settling on wines could be pretty good. It also gives 2T worth of scout movement to see, if there something significantly better close by.

Barring objections, it's a 52x52 Standard/Prince/Toroid, with all teams on the same landmass and both over-coast and over-ocean other landmass. I need turn order and probably secure threads to show off starts, no rush though.

I'll cook up a sandbox with these settings.
I have to run.

Commodore move that Scout 88 for us smile. if he doesn't find anything then the Wines could be nice, or depending on the fog 7 and settle. At least five cottageable tiles too, FIN seems pretty desirable.

I wonder if that Corn is wet.

I've lettered the spots that look reasonable to settle, and counted up a few stats for them.

My fog-reading abilities aren't great (especially without a save), so some of this may be wrong.

I agree that settling on the wine looks like the best option.

Why is A better than E? E has 4 forests btw.

Good point, fixed the table.

The only reason to pick A over E is the wine commerce. I'm not sure how significant that will be compared to the turn delay - probably only worth it if we're FIN.

Interesting to notice that expansive would only get a bonus in the first worker by settling in place, as far as I can tell. It doesn't mean that much, but it's worth pointing out.

I think the 3 commerce city tile isn't worth a turn loss, so I would only consider settling there if the scout revealed something in that direction. That means I'd send the scout in that direction, probably 1NW, 1N. If we don't find any resource, I'd settle on the E spot.

There probably aren't big difference in them. Farmed Wine tile could be useful so settling above it might not be a big commerce win. We would had to work non Flood plains tile for 5T if we go for wines so losing some there too.

Naturally it all depends what scout finds. Seems like the river is bending so both places probably have similar amount of riverside tiles.
