How to Log Into the Game
First, you will need to download the Spanish Apolyton mod: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6355677/WebMod1_0.rar
Next, you must put the folder in the correct place on your computer. On a Windows setup, this is as follows:
C: / Program Files / Firaxis Games / Civ4 / Beyond the Sword / Mods
This mod apparently doesn't run on Macs, so I guess those folks are just out of luck. Sorry.
When starting up Civ4, you must select the Custom option on the main menu, followed by Load a Mod:
Attempting to log into a Multiplayer game in the normal way will cause a crash, since you aren't using the mod's assets. From the above menu, select the Spanish mod, which is named WebMod1_0:
This will reboot Civ4 with the mod's assets in place. Now you can log into the Pitboss via the standard route, which is Multiplayer followed by Direct IP Connection:
Notice how the mod displays in the corner. If you aren't seeing this, then the game will not load. On the Direct IP screen, enter the login name (Realms Beyond for our team) and this IP number: 178.17.156.11
EDIT: The IP has since been changed to this number: 178.17.156.44
I think it would be nice if we all used the same Realms Beyond tag to log in, so that other teams have no idea which of us are playing the turn and logging into the game. Not terribly important, of course. Whatever you have typed in the top box is what will show up as our name when logging into the game. Leave the password box in the bottom corner blank.
On the Civ select screen, click on Pacal. We're #1 on this listing of civs, right where we belong. You will have to enter our team password, which is as follows: MenOfDenile
After that, you are in the game live! Everyone should always feel free to log in and look at what's going on, but please do not move units or rearrange tiles without permission. Note that when war is declared, there may be some weird rules about logging in. Be aware of this, and err on the side of caution.

Turn 0 - 4000BC
The initial turns have all been simmed out, making this a breeze. I've already made these exact moves a dozen times testing stuff. Feels a little strange to be doing them for real. Move settler 1N, found on bananas. Hunting research selected. Warrior moves NW in the expectation of moving NE next turn onto hill.
Nothing too significant there. Jungle tile means we are near the equator if this is a standard map script, which it likely isn't.
Game settings. Nothing unexpected.
Here is the F8 screen. No one else has settled yet. This map has a HUGE amount of land tiles on it. We have an excellent leader and civ for these conditions - we should be able to play a pure macro game of teching and expansion with great success.
The meaningless Demographics with no one settled yet.
Now we wait for 3 days while all the teams that didn't do any planning during the previous weeks of waiting figure out what they're going to do.

Turn 1 - 3960BC
Moved warrior to the NE as planned:
Jungle up there and nothing else immediately noticeable. Feel free to have at it with your best tile-bleeding analysis. Where does the warrior go next turn? Another move to the NE looks best to me, suggest away with your own thoughts.
Demos after playing the turn. Not a ton of movement here. However, there is one item of note: "Rival Best" production is now 3, not 2. This indicates settling on a plains hill and working a tile with one production, which sounds like nothing special. However, when swapping tiles around, the Demos also reveal that all of the other teams still produce at least 5 food as well. (When I have us at 5 food by working the grassland tile, we are still listed as #5 on Food, dead last, which means every team has at least that much.) This means that UniversCiv is currently working a 5 Food / 3 Production setup. Is that even possible? Not normally, but it's doable on this start. Going back once more to the starting position:
UniversCiv moved on the first turn, settled on a plains hill, and is working that 3/1 forested deer tile. This makes sense because of their awful Hunting/Mysticism starting techs. We don't have any locations that would qualify for that opening without a borders expansion, so therefore their start must look slightly different. But I'd bet that the teams likely have similar resource distribution at the start (corn, deer, bananas, etc.) Just speculation for now - what else are we going to do though?
Thoughts, comments, questions?

Turn 2 - 3920BC
There was no consensus on where to move the warrior, so I made the final decision. I was more persuaded by mostly_harmless than anyone else, and tile counting suggested that we could swing out further to the north and still scout both the cows location to the east and the southern floodplains area in the first 15 turns. So I moved NE this turn:
Naturally this revealed nothing. Please move the warrior NE again next turn, then start cutting SE after that.
Here are the Demos for this turn. Feel free to take a stab at analyzing them, I'm afraid I just don't have the time right now. I'm a little disappointed at the lack of interest so far in working with the Demos. I'm the only one taking screenshots and posting them, or trying to pull tidbits from the numbers. Is the game just that boring? I thought we had like 50 people on this team. No one interested in helping out with this beyond waterbat?
Unless things roll over quickly tomorrow, this is the last turn I'll be here to play until July 30. I want a clear statement of who is filling in for the next two weeks, not "maybe sunrise or mostly_harmless will play." The turn takes all of 20 seconds to play right now. Let's put one clear person in charge for the time being and go with that. As far as I'm concerned, clear appointment of team roles and duties is a good thing. Pick up and play when you feel like it is an invitation for trouble.

Warrior moved NE and revealed the river spring as expected. And Bananas which will come in handy once we settle the jungle.
A suspiciously bare hill to the E and some more hills and mountains in the fog.
Next movement will be 1E.
And here the demographics.
KJN will have more to say on those, I think. Only thing that stands out immediately is the land number. The creative civ has popped the 2nd ring to now 20 land tiles and 1 lake tile. Its CivFrance and they have not logged in and reshuffled any tiles yet.

Warrior moved onto the bare hill as planned and revealed more tiles then anticipated including a riverside gold hill!
A cow-gold-deer city might be candidate for a 2nd city.
Here the demographics.
Warrior goes SE next turn. We will also pop our borders to reveal more tiles then.

Warrior moved according to plan SE.
Together with the capital border pop we reveal a lot of tiles.
A coastline to our west with fish, calendar happiness resource to the Northwest.
Here the demographics.
Warrior will go onto the gold hill (SE) next turn.

Warrior moved on top of the gold hill and revealed some nice surroundings. 2x riverside Spices + riverside corn.
Here the demographics.
Warrior goes 1SE next turn, and then we might have to decide whether we deviate from the movement plan to scout more of the NE or continue the circle.
Maybe people can already dotmap the Gold area without further need of defogging.
I also noticed that we were working the deer and not the plains hill. Not a big deal, as the result is the same for the worker, but can people logging into the game please make sure they revert tile assignments back to the agreed plan?

Warrior moved SE, revealed very little.
Here the demographics.
Hunting tech in next turn. I kind of hope it is not just us who gets a point increase next turn. With 8 rivals there is bound to be at least one, that goes purely by the points in order to decide who to attack.
Warrior movement discussion over in the turn discussion thread.
